Floral Cake Sale-A-Bration Crossover

Hello Kre8tors! I’m so excited to share a crossover card with you! What makes it a crossover card, you might ask? It combines a Sale-A-Bration stamp set, a Sale-A-Bration coordinating product, and a bundle from the Annual Catalog! I think these products work beautifully together, and I’m so excited to share this fun, floral cake card with you!

I knew I wanted to use the Happy Birthday To You stamp set from the Sale-A-Bration flyer. This stamp set is gorgeous and perfect for birthdays, Mother’s Day, or just because! I was able to watercolor a piece of Whisper White cardstock with an Aqua Painter and some Pool Party ink before stamping the cake image with my Memento ink pad in Black.

I also stamped a second cake in Memento on a clean piece of Whisper White card stock so that I could color in and cut out the flowers with the coordinating Sale-A-Bration product, Birthday Dies. I love that these dies cut out both the cake and the flowers! It’s a genius way to get double duty from this stamp set! I also cut out some small leaves from a scrap piece of vellum and colored them in using the Soft Sea Foam Dark Stampin’ Blend Marker.

The Bloom & Grow floral image behind this cake was the perfect element to just peek out from behind. I love the greenery sprigs and think it really adds dimension to this cake. I also took the Pool Party Dark Stampin’ Blend marker and traced over the black lines on the cake and pedestal to give the cake a little more definition and shadowing effect. I bunched up some Silver Thread to put behind the cake, and added Rhinestones to the center of the flowers for a little extra bling.

Can you believe that these flowers are colored in with a Pumpkin Pie Light Stampin’ Blend Marker? I think it looks so good! I really didn’t expect the orange to go with the blue and green, but it totally works! I used the Stampin’ Blend Color Lifter to lighten up some of the areas of the rose that I thought should have a bit of light on them. Finally I touched up a few of the round greenery leaves with the Clear Wink of Stella glitter brush. Love that bling!

Sea of Textures Birthday Card

Hello Kre8tors and welcome! Today I’m sharing the birthday card that I made for my niece, who just turned 2! I wanted to make a special card for her that matched the wrapping on her gift. The colors I chose were Night of Navy, Crumb Cake, and Basic Gray. I love these neutrals together and think they made a beautiful card.

I CASE’d this card from the lovely Stamp It Up With Jaimie. You can see her original card by clicking here. I did change a few things such as the colors, but stuck mostly with the same overall design. I really loved the simplicity of the card, and the clean look it has.

I had to add a little sparkly shimmer so I used my Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush and painted the octopus to make him shine. I also threw in a few of the Basic Jewels Rhinestones for a little more sparkle. I really enjoyed how this card turned out! What do you think?

Measurements:

Basic Gray Card Base: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″, Score @ 4-1/4″
Night of Navy Card Mat: 3-3/4″ x 5″
Whisper White Card Mat: 3-5/8″ x 4-7/8″ (+scrap)
Whisper White Inner Mat: 4″ x 5-1/4″

Nature Inspired Card

I’m so excited about this card because it’s Nature Inspired! I’ve paired Winter Woods with Rooted in Nature to bring you this fun card. I used the Stamparatus to get a beautifully stamped background, and to get a sentiment rich in color! This card is a free make and take I am demonstrating at a charitable event, Let’s Stamp Out Hunger, on Saturday, April 6th!

I love how this card turned out, and I especially love the embossed background! I used the Tin Tile Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder on half of the card base. I have a great tip for embossing the front of your card. Check out my video at the link below to see how I did it!

I added some Clear Wink of Stella to the leaves, although on this sample my Wink of Stella got a little carried away! Be careful you don’t add too much. Although it kind of has a fun look to it, what do you think?

This card would definitely look beautiful in any color combination, but Crumb Cake and Garden Green really make all the textures on this card stand out! I love how the Stamparatus works so beautifully with the birch trees stamp from Winter Woods!

And that Burlap Ribbon adds a lot of spunk to this nature inspired card. I just can’t get over how much I am in love with this card! Be sure to watch my video below to find out how I put this card together, and to see a fun time lapse of me prepping some materials for the free make and takes for the fundraising event.

Let’s Stamp Out Hunger is an all day crafting event with several demonstrators providing Make and Takes throughout the day. There are raffles, door prizes, and a silent auction. All of the proceeds go straight to the Clatsop Emergency Food Bank. Our event is the largest fundraiser for the food bank and we are in our fourth year! If you’d like to donate, you can find that information in the Donate section of our website by clicking the image above.

How to “Deconstruct” (CASE) a Card

Today’s tutorial is all about “Deconstructing” cards so that you can CASE any card without having the measurements. I’m going to show you how I “eyeball” it and my secret for CASEing cards without instructions. I love to flip through our catalogs and brochures to find inspiration to craft my projects. I CASE a lot of cards, sometimes with directions, but most of the time I wing it. I think of it like a puzzle, and find it fun! What are some of your best tips for re-creating a project you’ve seen? Let me know by commenting on my video or on this post!

Tic Tac Toe Challenge for the Ink Stamp Share Blog Hop

Welcome back Kre8tors! Today we are hopping with the Ink. Stamp. Share. crew! We are a group of Stampin’ Up!®️Demonstrators from around the globe here to bring you inspiration through creativity! This month’s hop theme is the Tic Tac Toe Challenge! I’ve never participated in a TTT Challenge before, so I was really excited to give this a try!

We were tasked with choosing three squares in a row, either horizontal, vertical, or diagonal from the image below. I knew that I needed to make a special Birthday card for my Sister-In-Law, and her favorite color right now is yellow, so I chose the three horizontal squares in the middle.

I also knew that I wanted to use my host exclusive stamp sets, Artfully Folded and Very Vintage. I have been eyeing both of these stamp sets, and haven’t been able to think of anything very creative for them. I searched Pinterest for ideas on the Artfully Folded, but could only find three projects! I was very surprised! So, not only was this set perfect for my Sis, but it will hopefully inspire more out there to see the beauty in this sweet stamp set!

As I was going through the challenge, I had to keep adding bits and pieces, because I forgot which line I was trying to complete on the TTT Challenge graphic! So, here is a progression of my additions to complete the challenge line.

For the first image, I colored in the flowers with Pineapple Punch and a Blender Pen. Then I colored the leaves with my Old Olive Stampin’ Blend marker. I stamped the Swan outline in Tuxedo Black Memento, and then stamped the fill in with Pineapple Punch. You can see I’m a bit off in my stamping for this first project, but I figured it out in my video tutorial below! Come learn with me and find out how to stamp the image inside the lines! I cut my square out of the Stitched Shapes Framelits, but once I had this all put together, I realized I was still missing TWO of the elements from the challenge.

I inked up some of the Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon with a sponge dauber and some Pineapple Punch ink, and decided to add a little bit behind the flowers. Once I was done with that, I AGAIN didn’t have all three elements in a row from the TTT Challenge graphic. I knew it was a birthday card, but it didn’t SAY it on the card!

Well, that’s where the Very Vintage stamp set came to my rescue! It has an adorable “Happy Birthday” sentiment, that I think matches the tone of this card beautifully! So, I added my banner, and a couple sequins, and this card was complete! Looking back now, I think I could technically complete at least two more lines on the TTT Challenge graphic. What lines do you think I can complete with this card?

Thanks so much for joining me today! I hope this card has inspired those of you who own these stamp sets to get them out and play! And for those of you who don’t have these sets yet, have I changed your mind? They are so much fun to play with, and I can’t wait to continue designing beautiful projects with them!
