April 2018 Kre8tors Blog Hop Color Challenge

Welcome to the April 2018 Kre8tors Blog Hop! This month we are doing a color theme, as you can see from the lovely color scheme below. The challenge was to use at least three colors from the color palette, however I broke the rules and only used two because I forgot my own rules! It’s been a hectic few months.

As most of you know, I’m in the process of moving and almost ALL of my supplies are packed up in boxes! I was lucky enough to have a few essentials left out for a charity craft event I attended yesterday. This was my fourth year as a Make and Take Demonstrator and volunteer at the Let’s Stamp Out Hunger event which is a fundraiser for the Clatsop Emergency Food Bank. It’s a wonderful day full of friends and fun, held in the beautiful town of Astoria, Oregon. You can check out the website or find us on Facebook!

And now, on to my project! I decided to CASE a project from Maymay Made It Crafts. She has a fantastic video on how to create one of these A2 Card Holder Magazine Style projects. I really LOVE this project because it’s fun and easy to make AND I use a ton of them to store my cards!

The colors I chose to use from this month’s challenge include Wild Wasabi for the base and Powder Pink for the DSP. I planned on using Crumb Cake for the sentiment and to sponge daub the edges of the DSP, however my daubers were packed, and the Crumb Cake didn’t show up well on the DSP. Looking back, I wish I would have used the Crumb Cake on Whisper White and cut out a small oval to go on the flap.

This project is VERY easy to make, and takes only a few materials. It was perfect for me to whip up to share with you on this hop. I also used it as my Make and Take at this year’s Let’s Stamp Out Hunger event, and it was a huge hit!

I’ve already made quite a few of these awesome card holders, and will be making several more for all sorts of occasions. They hold a ton of cards (and big enough for the envelopes, too) and look so cute sitting on my shelf. At least, they WILL look cute once I get my shelf put back together in my new place!

While visiting Astoria for the fundraising event, my mother and I had a little fun walking around and enjoying the sunshine along the waterfront.

Not to mention enjoying some delicious iced coffee from a local coffee shop down the block. We took a ride on the trolly and also had some very yummy lunch! It was such a fun weekend, full of family, friends, and STAMPING! Which is my favorite activity!

Measurements:

12″ x 12″ Card Stock for Base
6″ x 12″ DSP for Accents

For directions on how to create this fun card holder, see Maymay’s video on her YouTube channel! I hope to make a video of my own for this soon, but I just wasn’t able to get one done with everything happening at the moment. I hope to get some videos up for you again in May!

If you don’t already have a demonstrator, I would love to be your Creative Coach! How can I help you?
If your order is over $150, don’t use a hostess code because you qualify for your own Stampin’ Rewards!
If your order is less than $150, use my current hostess code S6BPP672 when you place your order to get a thank you card from me at the beginning of next month! Your support means a lot to me and helps me to continue doing what I love, which is making videos for you to enjoy.

2018 Kre8tors Blog Hop – Occasions Petal Palette

Welcome to the first ever 2018 Kre8tors Blog Hop! I’m so excited to start this hop along with some very talented Stampin’ Up! demonstrators! January’s theme is Occasions to celebrate the launch of our 2018 Occasions Catalog! There are some AMAZING goodies in this catalog so be sure to visit each of the links at the end of this blog post to see everyone’s projects!

My project was using the Petal Palette Bundle. I think this is one of my FAVORITE new sets! I am sure I will be getting SO much use out of this bundle! I colored in the roses with our new Stampin’ Blends markers in Rich Razzleberry and our tried and true favorites, the Stampin’ Write markers in Garden Green and Wild Wasabi for the leaves. I did not use the Stampin’ Blends Color Lifter to blend my colors because I love how the outline looks.

This is set against a background of Basic Gray and Smoky Slate with a few fun little flowers falling down from the top of the card. Life is so much better with you in it and I’m so glad you are here to start off this Blog Hop with us!

Measurements:

Cardbase: Rich Razzleberry 4-1/4″ x 11″, score @ 5-1/2″
Mat 1: Basic Gray 4″ x 5-1/4″
Mat 2: Very Vanilla 3-3/4″ x 5″ (x 2)

Leaf Burst with Swirly Bird

There are a lot of things that make me happy, but this card is probably right up there at the top! I absolutely LOVED making this card, it was so much fun watching the “burst” come to life. I used the two leaf stamps from Swirly Bird and a simple sentiment from Thoughtful Banners. Tie it all together with some Black Metallic Thread and Rhinestones and you’ve got yourself a quick and gorgeous card!

This card was so fast and simple that it could have been a Clean & Quick Card, and in the video I show you how to make it just that before stepping it up with the embellishments.

I hope you give this card a try, and discover what stamp sets you might have that would work just as well to create this fun burst! If you’re looking for more inspiration for your Swirly Bird set, why not check out these links: Swirly Bird Frame Card, and Swirly Nest FB Card.

Jar of Love Floral Card

Hello Kre8tors! Jar of Love is making yet another appearance in this beautiful floral card video! I absolutely LOVE Jar of Love and all of the amazing possibilities for this set! Rich Razzleberry is the star of this card, with Wild Wasabi complimenting it with the gorgeous greenery stamp.

This card was inspired by a project I saw on Pinterest from Lynn Dunn. I loved her idea so much, I had to recreate my own version using Jar of Love. To see some of my other projects using this stamp set, you can check out this link, or this one, or even this one here!

I’m so excited for the products in the brand new Occasions 2018 Catalog, especially this gorgeous Silver Baker’s Twine I’ve added behind the Stitched Shapes Circle. I can never get enough metallic bling on my cards! I hope you enjoy this beautiful card! I sure did have a blast making it!

Measurements:

Cardbase: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″, score @ 4-1/4″
