Die Cut Inlay Technique Anniversary Card with A Wish For Everything

Hello Kre8tors! Welcome to my blog if you’re new, and welcome back if you’ve been around for awhile! I’m sharing a fun technique with you called Die Cut Inlay. I needed to make an anniversary card for my parents’ who were celebrating 36 years of marriage. I knew I wanted it to sparkle, so I used our Sparkle Glimmer Paper front and center.

I used the Word Wishes Dies that coordinate with the A Wish For Everything stamp set. I cut out the ‘Happy’ from the Glimmer paper layer first, then carefully lined up the Pretty Peacock Card Mat behind the Glimmer paper layer and ran it back through with the die a second time.

I was careful not to cut too deep so that my Pretty Peacock layer was still attached to the mat. This just made it easier to adhere to my card. If you try this, and it cuts out all the way, don’t worry! Just glue it down when you get ready to adhere everything to your card base.

I saved the little pieces that cut out of the glimmer paper ‘happy’ sentiment so that I could glue them into the Pretty Peacock layer to really make the inlay stand out. I stamped the word Anniversary from this stamp set and punched it out using the Classic Label Punch. Then I glued this to a strip of Pretty Peacock, cut it out with my Paper Snips, and used Mini Glue Dots to adhere it off center on the card.

After I was done, it still needed a little something else. So I decided to use the gorgeous Noble Peacock Rhinestones, which at the time I made this card are on sale because they are retiring! If there are any left, you might want to grab a pack or two because these are beautiful!

Share Sunshine Digital Download

Hello Kre8tors! Welcome to my blog if you’re new, and welcome back if you’ve been around for awhile! Today I’m sharing a card I made using Stampin’ Up!’s Share Sunshine Digital Download.

Stampin’ Up! is committed to making a difference in our global communities and caring about people first. As part of their Making a Difference program they’re offering a product giveback opportunity to support organizations that are helping COVID-19 frontline responders and communities vulnerable to the pandemic.

You can purchase the Share Sunshine PDF Download and Stampin’ Up! will donate 100% of the proceeds to COVID-19 efforts. Demonstrators do not earn any commissions from this purchase.

This sentiment, among MANY others, is included in the digital download. It was designed in Terracotta Tile and Highland Heather, so that was my color inspiration for this card. I wanted to pair it with the First Frost Bundle, since it will be retiring in June when the new Annual Catalog is launched.

I used my Highland Heather Classic Stampin’ Pad to pink up the flowers of this stamp, and then used my Old Olive Stampin’ Write Marker to ink up the leaves and stem. I used an Aqua Painter to watercolor the vellum circle I pulled out of my scrap pile, and painted Terracotta Tile before adhering to the card base.

Another sentiment that was included with the Share Sunshine Digital Download was “This too shall pass” which is such a lovely sentiment. I cut it out and adhered it to the inside with three of the rosettes from the First Frost stamp set.

Stamper’s Showcase March 2020 Blog Hop – Happy Birthday!

Hello Kre8tors and welcome to another Blog Hop! We are hopping with the Stampers Showcase Blog Hop today! This month’s theme is birthdays! I’ve decided to make this fun card that focuses on some simple stamping techniques and basic layering. Be sure to scroll down to the bottom of the post and click that Next button when you’re done here to hop along to the next amazing project!

I wanted to take a moment to throw you back to one of my earlier videos that features this same layout and technique. You can see that video on my YouTube channel by clicking here. I love this layout because it’s simple and easy to create with a variety of stamp sets. This card is slightly narrower than a typical card. (Mostly because I didn’t know I had already cut some off the edge before I scored and folded it for my card base!) But I really think the slightly narrower card is fun and it will still fit in our envelopes, so that’s a win!

I started by choosing three colors. Too many colors and it might look too busy. I used Terracotta Tile, Old Olive, and Crushed Curry. I cut a strip of Crumb Cake and Whisper White card stock to use as my guide on where to stamp. I laid down the Crumb Cake card stock over my Whisper White card mat at an angle and moved it slightly when I wanted to stamp one of my images. I repeated this until I had all the background stamped behind the strip of card stock.

Then I stamped my sentiment and omitted the ‘Let’s’ and just stamped the ‘Celebrate You’ onto a strip of Whisper White 1/2″ smaller than the Crumb Cake strip. I adhered the Whisper White strip to the Crumb Cake strip with Snail Adhesive and then popped the Crumb Cake up onto the card mat using some Stampin’ Dimensionals. I added some lovely crinkled seam binding ribbon in a bow, and scattered some Pearls.

I don’t normally go for these colors together, but I was feeling kind of 70’s today lol What three colors would you have used on this card? Send me a picture via Instagram or Facebook and let me see your creation! You can find me @mkre8tions.

ICS Blog Hop Fabulous Fall

Hello Kre8tors and welcome to another Blog Hop! We are hopping with the Inspire, Create, & Share Blog Hop today! The theme this month is Fabulous Fall and I am BEYOND EXCITED about this one! I love everything Fall! Colder weather, cozy snuggles, glowing candles, warm beverages… Ahhh! So much YES! Join us as we celebrate my favorite season with some beautiful Fall inspired projects!

Be sure to scroll down to the bottom of the post and click that Next button when you’re done here to hop along to the next amazing project!

I decided to take a Christmas set and turn it into my Fall inspiration for this blog hop. I used the Tidings All Around bundle from the brand new Holiday Catalog (which is live TODAY!) with some of our brand new In Colors to create this wonderful wreath.

The sentiment “I am thankful for you” came from a classic set, Painted Harvest, which is available in the Annual Catalog. It’s a beautiful set, one which I almost used for this month’s project, but I opted to challenge myself and see how I could turn a Christmas stamp set into a Fall project.

The wreath was cut from some Pretty Peacock cardstock, and the branch and “wheat” top accents are done with Early Espresso and Terracotta Tile. I really love the punch of rusty-orange the Terracotta Tile lends to this project. I think it really ties together the colors and screams Fall!

I’m so THANKFUL that you stopped by to see my project today! Don’t forget to hop along to Audra’s blog to see what exciting project she has created for you! Click the Next button below!
