KBH Card Sketch 3-22-01

Sketch Challenge Using Cactus Cuties

As soon as I saw the Cactus Cuties set from the Mini Catalog I knew I had to have it. I’ve recently become obsessed with succulents and this adorable stamp set spoke to my soul.

Sketch Challenge Colors

I knew right away that I wanted to use this year’s retiring in-colors because I have A LOT of paper left! 😅 These were some of my favorite in-colors from recent years. I used Misty Moonlight for the base of the card and brought in some Bumblebee and Just Jade for my stamped accents.

Sketch Challenge Details

I’ve also been on a HUGE gilded leafing kick lately, and I wanted to hide the un-embossed edges of my blue cardstock. This beautiful metallic accent can really help hide those oopsies! 😁

You know it, I also had to throw on a couple of the Iridescent Rhinestones for that bling bling!

Sketch Challenge Video Tutorial

Here’s my video tutorial for you to see more in-depth details for today’s card. I really hope you’ll consider subscribing to the channel while you’re there!

July 2018 Kre8tors Blog Hop Card Sketch Challenge

Welcome Kre8tors to another Kre8tors Blog Hop! So glad you have joined us! Whether this is your first time hopping with us, or you’re a seasoned hopper, you are in for a treat! This month, the members of KBH from around the world are bringing you inspiration in the form of a sketch challenge! This is one of my favorite sketches and I’m so glad to bring it back to debut some awesome products from the new Annual Catalog!

Here’s a copy of the sketch challenge that was issued to the members of KBH. You might recognize this sketch from a previous post involving some super cute pandas from Sale A Bration earlier this year.

I decided to use the beautiful Sea of Textures stamp set to re-create this sketch challenge. I am SO in love with how it turned out! I used Berry Burst for the frame and Octopus with a Crumb Cake card base, and whisper white scrap pieces.

I really love all the different nautical textures in this set, like the fish scales and fishing net. I also just can’t get enough of that octopus! I just think he’s so different and fun!

Be sure to watch my tutorial to see how this card came together, and scroll down to the big ol’ NEXT button to hop along to Lisa’s project. I love how she interpreted this sketch challenge! Thanks so much for hopping with us, and we will see you soon!

Measurements:

Crumb Cake Cardbase: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″, score @ 4-1/4″

Hanging Banners Sketch with Daisy Delight

I love challenges and have been trying so many different ideas in my VIP group. We have been doing sketch challenges which are so much fun because I get to see my VIP’s ideas unfold. There are so many different ideas and possibilities when it comes to sketches. I created the Hanging Banners sketch with the Daisy Delight Bundle, which includes a coordinating punch, in mind. It’s simple, but still so much fun for a quick card. The sentiment can easily be left off this card right up until it’s ready to be gifted, making it a perfect all occasion card. I’m so excited to announce which one of my VIP’s won this challenge, so let’s get to it!

I used the coordinating Designer Series Paper from the Daisy Delight suite of products in the annual catalog for this challenge card. I really love how the Gold Glimmer Paper accents the Tranquil Tide colors. I used both Cardstock and the Finely Woven Ribbon on this card. I love how the colors are perfect matches!

The inspiration for this challenge came from a few card designs I saw on Pinterest. I love how simple and fun the banners are hanging from the off-set circle.

The winner of this challenge was one of my downlines, Diane Marra! Her card is so lovely, I absolutely adore the DSP with flecks of gold foil! She changed the alignment to create a portrait card instead of landscape, and I just adore how it turned out!

Whether you are stamping on the circle, or creating a 3D item to pop out, this fun sketch works well for so many different stamp sets! I encourage you to give this sketch a try and share your projects with me! You can post on social media and use #mkre8tionssketchchallenge or tag me with @mkre8tions so that I can see your fun projects!

Measurements:

Very Vanilla Cardbase: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″, score @ 4-1/4″
Very Vanilla for Daisies (x2): Approx. 4″ x 5″
Tranquil Tide Circle: Approx. 3″ x 3″
Delightful Daisy DSP: 1-1/2″ x 5-1/2″
Gold Glimmer Strip: 3/4″ x 5-1/2″
Gold Glimmer Banners (x2): 3/4″ x 2″

Frame Card with Party Pandas & Challenge Winner

Party Pandas have done it again! They are floating right into my heart on this fun Frame Card. There are so many beautiful color combinations that could be used on this adorable card, but I think I am favoring the Real Red over the Bermuda Bay out of the two I’ve made so far. Which is your favorite?

I love adding texture to the background with the Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Scattered Sequins. It looks so great on this Frame Card especially because it allows you to see more of that beautiful background through the frame.

The Basic Black Metallic Thread I used behind the panda also gives this card a fun and whimsical touch, not to mention the watercoloring on the balloon. For a simple and fast version of this card, check out my Clean & Quick 19 Party Pandas Card. Remember, the only way to get your hands on this Party Pandas stamp set is for FREE during Sale-A-Bration by placing a qualifying order on my website!

Whether you make your frame thick or thin, this card has so many design possibilities! This card was inspired by the Focal Accent Sketch Challenge in my VIP Stamp Lounge, exclusive for my customers and downlines. I think the challenge winner, Pam, did such a wonderful job on her card!

I’ve included a copy of this sketch challenge so you can re-create this card, too! If you make it, please be sure to tag me on your photo, or send me a copy! I’d love to see your creativity!

Measurements:

Real Red Cardbase: 4-1/4″ x 11″, score @ 5-1/2″
Whisper White Mat A: 3-3/4″ x 5″
Real Red Mat B (Frame): 2-1/2″ x 2-1/2″
Smoky Slate Strip C: 1/2″ x 3-1/4″
Whisper White Strip D: 1/2″ x 1-1/2″
Focal Piece E (Panda): Approx. 1-1/4″ x 1-1/4″ or larger

Love Notes Sketch Copper Inspired

I recently discovered two amazing challenges that I’m excited to participate in for the first time! I’ve used pieces from the January 2018 Paper Pumpkin Kit to create this fun alternate Valentines Day Card. It has beautiful copper accents on a fun Flirty Flamingo water-colored and embossed background.

The first portion of this card was inspired by The Paper Players’ Clean & Simple Challenge: Love Notes #PP377 I loved all the different challenge cards the other crafters came up with and am excited to submit my first challenge card with them. Learn more by clicking the image below.

I’m also excited to submit my first challenge with the Global Design Project. They had a sketch challenge this week, #GDP122 I really liked this sketch, and knew I wanted to incorporate my Paper Pumpkin pieces with this. Learn more about their challenges by clicking on the image below.

Thanks so much for stopping by today to see my project! I hope you enjoyed, and be sure to watch my coordinating video tutorial to see how mine came together.
