Sea of Textures Birthday Card

Hello Kre8tors and welcome! Today I’m sharing the birthday card that I made for my niece, who just turned 2! I wanted to make a special card for her that matched the wrapping on her gift. The colors I chose were Night of Navy, Crumb Cake, and Basic Gray. I love these neutrals together and think they made a beautiful card.

I CASE’d this card from the lovely Stamp It Up With Jaimie. You can see her original card by clicking here. I did change a few things such as the colors, but stuck mostly with the same overall design. I really loved the simplicity of the card, and the clean look it has.

I had to add a little sparkly shimmer so I used my Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush and painted the octopus to make him shine. I also threw in a few of the Basic Jewels Rhinestones for a little more sparkle. I really enjoyed how this card turned out! What do you think?

Measurements:

Basic Gray Card Base: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″, Score @ 4-1/4″

Whisper White Card Mat: 3-5/8″ x 4-7/8″ (+scrap)

June Kre8tors Blog Hop Dads & Grads

Welcome back to the Kre8tors Blog Hop! So glad you are joining us for this Dads & Grads themed hop! Be sure to scroll down to the Roll Call List to hop along to the next demonstrator for some wonderful inspiration!

I am SUPER excited about my project today because it’s colorful, fun, and DIFFERENT from anything I’ve done! The bundle I’ve used is called Sailing Home and includes the cling mount stamp set along with the Smooth Sailing dies. This sea-worthy set was the first item I purchased from our new annual catalog, and I’m so glad because it’s been amazing!

I tried to replicate the sailor’s knot in the stamp set on the front of my card for a little added something. This is a very special card for a very special man in my life; my father. He’s been my true North, for sure! Teaching me right and wrong, showing me how to be independent and strong.

He is also a fan of tie-dye, so I thought the vibrant and colorful background was perfect for him. This card features a technique that I haven’t used before. I’m not sure if it has an official name, but let’s just call this the Partial Die Cutting technique.

Want to see how it’s done? Check out the video below, and then come back and hop along to see more amazing inspiration for this Dads & Grads themed hop!

2018 August Kre8tors Blog Hop

It’s once again time for the Kre8tors Blog Hop! Where a group of Stampin’ Up! Independent Demonstrators from around the world share their projects and ideas with you! We have been hard at work on the August hop and are so excited to share this month’s theme: WATER!

That’s right, we are featuring OUR interpretations of the theme, water. It could be in the ocean, a beverage, weather related, or just about anything else that has to do with water. One of my favorite seasonal transitions is from Summer to Fall, and living in the United States in the state Oregon, I love the rain! I can’t wait for it! I know, most people aren’t fans of the rain, but I’m very ready for it! 🙂

The card I decided to make features a fun fish bowl in a mason jar! I wanted to blend two of my favorite sets together, Jar of Love and Sea of Textures. Jar of Love is a classic that has been with us for a little bit now. There are coordinating framelits dies to cut out the fish, jar, and so many more shapes and jar sizes!

I combined this with the brand new Sea of Textures stamp set with coordinating framelits dies, Under the Sea. I used that set to cut out the coral and background foliage. I also stamped the “thanks” from this set.

I love using Window Sheets to get a really fun 3D effect for my “fishbowl”. I stamped directly on the window sheet to make the jar, and then popped up my fish and coral using layered dimensionals. I added a few sequins to finish it off and hide the dimensionals. I love how it turned out! What do you think? Check out the video below for more details on how this came together!

Measurements:

Whisper White Cardbase: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″, score @ 4-1/4″
Window Sheet: Approximately 2-1/2″ x 3-1/2″

Tropical Escape DSP Scraps for foliage
