Christmas Gift Tags Day 5

Hello Kre8tors! Welcome to Day 5 of my Christmas Gift Tag Week. If you missed the previous four days, make sure you pop over to the posts for Day 1, Day 2, Day 3, and Day 4 to check them out! Now on to the last tag of the series. I made this one to coordinate with some of the other gift wrap I’m using to wrap the kids’ gifts this year. I wanted to coordinate the tag to the wrapping.

There are several different style tags in my series this week which all feature their own little, unique flair. I hope you enjoy all of the tags, and don’t forget to subscribe to my YouTube channel so you don’t miss out on my video tutorials.

This is another fairly simple tag, though it does take a little longer to make due to the heat embossing. But I really love the raised images, especially the white on the black background. I colored in the ‘Tis the Season sentiment with a Poppy Parade Stampin’ Blend. Because these markers are alcohol based, they stain the embossing, unlike water based markers which resist the embossing.

I used some of the images from the Rooted in Nature stamp set, and the sentiment from Tidings All Around to create this tag. I punched the tag using the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch and threaded some white Baker’s Twine through to attach it to my package.

On the back of the tag, I used my Snail Adhesive to glue a small square of Whisper White cardstock to write the To and From. Alternatively, if you had a white paint pen, a gel pen, or a chalk marker, you could skip that step and just write directly onto the tag.

I really love the way this tag looks on this package with the darker color scheme. The white really pops and makes the tag stand out. Are you loving the ‘dark side’ of this gift wrapping theme? 😉

Kre8tors Blog Hop October 2019 Fall

Welcome Kre8tors! So excited to have you here for the Kre8tors Blog Hop! Be sure to use that Next button below to hop along to the next amazing blog post for some more Autumnal inspiration!

My absolute favorite season is Fall/Autumn. It’s when the leaves change from bright green to red, yellow, and orange, the air starts to get crisp, but the sun is still shining. I love it! So I took my love for Fall and the changing leaves as my inspiration for my Fall inspired card.

Of course I had to use the Rooted in Nature stamp set and coordinating dies to create this lovely card. That stamp and die set is so versatile and is perfect for SOOO many different occasions!

Stamping the leaves in so many different colors was highly addictive! I stamped enough so that I could make two cards. I always love to stamp a little extra to use later. It’s a big time saver!

I used the Tufted embossing folder on the background for a more plush look behind my falling leaves. I love the white mat on the white card base because the colors of the leaves and the texture of the background really stand out!

I used the Delicata Celestial Copper ink for the sentiment and I can’t believe the amount of sparkle! It’s perfect for this card! The copper really compliments the Fall colors of the leaves. I’m so happy with the way this card turned out! Be sure to check out my YouTube tutorial to see how it all came together AND to hear about a giveaway for my 5,000 YouTube subscriber milestone!

Also, the new trimmer is here! It’s currently only available to demonstrators, and new recruits can add it to their starter kits! If you’d like to join my team, click on the Join My Team link at the top of the page! The customer date is TBD, so keep checking back for more information.

Nature Inspired Card

I’m so excited about this card because it’s Nature Inspired! I’ve paired Winter Woods with Rooted in Nature to bring you this fun card. I used the Stamparatus to get a beautifully stamped background, and to get a sentiment rich in color! This card is a free make and take I am demonstrating at a charitable event, Let’s Stamp Out Hunger, on Saturday, April 6th!

I love how this card turned out, and I especially love the embossed background! I used the Tin Tile Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder on half of the card base. I have a great tip for embossing the front of your card. Check out my video at the link below to see how I did it!

I added some Clear Wink of Stella to the leaves, although on this sample my Wink of Stella got a little carried away! Be careful you don’t add too much. Although it kind of has a fun look to it, what do you think?

This card would definitely look beautiful in any color combination, but Crumb Cake and Garden Green really make all the textures on this card stand out! I love how the Stamparatus works so beautifully with the birch trees stamp from Winter Woods!

And that Burlap Ribbon adds a lot of spunk to this nature inspired card. I just can’t get over how much I am in love with this card! Be sure to watch my video below to find out how I put this card together, and to see a fun time lapse of me prepping some materials for the free make and takes for the fundraising event.

Let’s Stamp Out Hunger is an all day crafting event with several demonstrators providing Make and Takes throughout the day. There are raffles, door prizes, and a silent auction. All of the proceeds go straight to the Clatsop Emergency Food Bank. Our event is the largest fundraiser for the food bank and we are in our fourth year! If you’d like to donate, you can find that information in the Donate section of our website by clicking the image above.

Open Craft Christmas Card with Rooted in Nature Part 2

Hello Kre8tors! Here is the second card I provided to my customers at my Open Craft day who purchased the Rooted in Nature bundle from me in October. I found my inspiration for this card from Jan Clothier of Thinking Stamping. Her design was on Pinterest and included beautiful gold accents. I wanted to use what I had on hand, so I changed it a bit, but the poinsettia she created are gorgeous!

This is a simple and quick card that can be made in a short period of time. If you want to make it snail mail friendly, you can leave off the clear gems and use small circles punched out of gold or silver foil instead. I meant to demonstrate that in my video, but I forgot! And I love how the gems look as the centers of the poinsettias.

I meant to add a small bow to the side of the sentiment as well. That would be a great technique to show how you can easily step up this card design by adding a few more elements. I would love to see your stepped up version of this card! Send me a photo by tagging me on social media: @mkre8tions

The poinsettias were made using the Rooted in Nature bundle, and the sentiment is from the stamp set I’ll Be Home. I love the font used on this Merry Christmas. I think it’s just beautiful, with these made by hand poinsettia stamps.

Open Craft Christmas Cards with Rooted in Nature

Welcome back, Kre8tors! Today I’m sharing with you one of the cards that I provided for my customers who purchased the Rooted in Nature bundle. Of course, I scoured Pinterest for inspiration and ideas. And because these are Christmas Cards, I wanted to make them easy to mail. This is the first card we put together during our Open Craft event that I held on Sunday afternoon.

The inspiration for this card came from Mandy Depiazzi of My Paper Trail. Her version was slightly different and included a beautiful metal trinket, however I wanted to make these cards simple to mail so I left that accent off. I also used Wink of Stella to make my trees and leaf accent glimmer instead of the Shimmer Paint.

I used two different colors to stamp my tree line using the Stamparatus. I’m not sure what the technique is called, but we will call it the “in line stamping” technique. The first row was 2nd generation Mint Macaron, and the second row was 1st generation Tranquil Tide. To see how this tree scene came together, be sure to watch my YouTube video at the bottom of this post, or head over to my channel.

If there was one bundle I could recommend to anyone, beginner to advanced stamper, it would be the Rooted in Nature Bundle. This bundle is so versatile and can make a whole plethora of cards from masculine to feminine, birthday to Christmas to sympathy, the possibilities are endless! I used the sentiment from another set on this card to make it a Christmas card. The Merry Christmas sentiment is from the I’ll Be Home stamp set, which I can’t wait to play with more!

To make the embellishment in the corner, I used the coordinating thinlits dies to emboss and cut out the leaf from Tranquil Tide cardstock. I colored it in with my Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush, and then cut another leaf from a piece of vellum. In my video, I turned the vellum leaf the opposite direction and tuck it just under the green leaf so that you can see more of the beautiful sparkly leaf. I tied a double bow from linen thread, and my embellishment was complete! It’s flat enough that it should mail easily without extra postage. Also, the placement of this embellishment is right under the corner of the envelope that would get a return address label, so that will help to keep it from poking out of the envelope.

If you enjoyed this card, be sure to check out my previous projects using this amazing stamp set!
