Kre8tors Autumn Color Challenge

Hello, Kre8tors! I’m Melissa from Melissa’s Kre8tions. Welcome back to the 2018 Kre8tors Blog Hop! Today we are celebrating Autumn with a color challenge! I’ve provided our hop participants with the following color palette to create their projects. I think they’ve all done an amazing job, what do you think? If you’d like to create your own project using this color scheme, upload a picture of your finished project to social media and tag me on your post so that I can see your wonderful creation and share it with my followers! See the Social Media buttons at the bottom of this post to find out where you can share!

So, our color challenge theme is Autumn, and the photo above is the inspiration for our color palette. I challenged our lovely demonstrators with using at least 3 out of 5 of the colors above, and in addition to those, they are allowed to use black, white, and vanilla. Here’s what I came up with!

As I was perusing Pinterest, I came across a photo that had a beautiful dark background with colorful leaves all over. I clicked on the photo to find out more, however there was no link to follow. The only information that was on the pin said Patsy Collins and Josephs Coat Technique. She did a great job using the photo to show step by step how this technique works. I wanted to recreate her technique using the beautiful Rooted in Nature stamp set. I am in LOVE with how it turned out!

The colors I chose to use are Pumpkin Pie, Real Red, and Granny Apple Green. We were allowed to use Black and Whisper White as well. I think these colors are so beautiful together! They remind me of Autumn and rainbow sherbet ice cream! Yum!

Check out my video tutorial to learn how to make this fun and colorful background using the Joseph’s Coat Technique! Don’t forget to hop around to all of the very talented demonstrators that are part of our wonderful Kre8tors Blog Hop! They’ve all worked very hard on these projects! Something Spooky This Way Comes

Hello Kre8tors! Welcome back to the Paper Pumpkin Pop Up Blog Hop! This month we are popping up because there is something spectacularly spooky here! The September ’18 Kit, Frights & Delights! This special edition kit is perfect for the Halloween season! It came with three adorable little goodie bags and tags that allowed us a vessel to fill yummy treats and pass around.

Check out my previous post and coordinating YouTube video for when I made these adorable bundles of sweet goodness!

The little bags were way too adorable, and I wanted to save as much of the materials as I could to make them all! But that didn’t stop me from making two fabulous alternate CARDS to share with you today! Two different styles, one is more “vintage-antique-shabby-chic” and the other is “bright-and-fun”! Which style is your favorite?

Don’t forget to check out my tutorial video below to see how these cards came together. Click on the NEXT button to hop over to Candy’s blog where she is going to show you her delicious project!

Click the image below to check out my YouTube video tutorial!

Did you know that RIGHT NOW new Paper Pumpkin subscribers can get their first kit for only $5?!?! WHOA! This is unheard of! It’s the best deal I have seen since Paper Pumpkin started! You’re definitely going to want to jump in on this. Not only do you get a box of creativity and supplies delivered to your mailbox each month, but you have SO many resources for alternate projects and other ideas on ways to use the supplies in your kit. You have nothing to lose and craft supplies to gain by giving it a try!

If you already have a demonstrator, be sure to ask them how you can get your kit for only $5 this month! If you don’t have a demonstrator, I’d love to help you out! Just click on my Paper Pumpkin link and sign up using the code FLASH1018. This promotion will start on October 8, and run through October 10, or until supplies run out! There’s a limited number of kits available, so make sure you sign up quick!

April 2018 Kre8tors Blog Hop Color Challenge

Welcome to the April 2018 Kre8tors Blog Hop! This month we are doing a color theme, as you can see from the lovely color scheme below. The challenge was to use at least three colors from the color palette, however I broke the rules and only used two because I forgot my own rules! It’s been a hectic few months.

As most of you know, I’m in the process of moving and almost ALL of my supplies are packed up in boxes! I was lucky enough to have a few essentials left out for a charity craft event I attended yesterday. This was my fourth year as a Make and Take Demonstrator and volunteer at the Let’s Stamp Out Hunger event which is a fundraiser for the Clatsop Emergency Food Bank. It’s a wonderful day full of friends and fun, held in the beautiful town of Astoria, Oregon. You can check out the website or find us on Facebook!

And now, on to my project! I decided to CASE a project from Maymay Made It Crafts. She has a fantastic video on how to create one of these A2 Card Holder Magazine Style projects. I really LOVE this project because it’s fun and easy to make AND I use a ton of them to store my cards!

The colors I chose to use from this month’s challenge include Wild Wasabi for the base and Powder Pink for the DSP. I planned on using Crumb Cake for the sentiment and to sponge daub the edges of the DSP, however my daubers were packed, and the Crumb Cake didn’t show up well on the DSP. Looking back, I wish I would have used the Crumb Cake on Whisper White and cut out a small oval to go on the flap.

This project is VERY easy to make, and takes only a few materials. It was perfect for me to whip up to share with you on this hop. I also used it as my Make and Take at this year’s Let’s Stamp Out Hunger event, and it was a huge hit!

I’ve already made quite a few of these awesome card holders, and will be making several more for all sorts of occasions. They hold a ton of cards (and big enough for the envelopes, too) and look so cute sitting on my shelf. At least, they WILL look cute once I get my shelf put back together in my new place!

While visiting Astoria for the fundraising event, my mother and I had a little fun walking around and enjoying the sunshine along the waterfront.

Not to mention enjoying some delicious iced coffee from a local coffee shop down the block. We took a ride on the trolly and also had some very yummy lunch! It was such a fun weekend, full of family, friends, and STAMPING! Which is my favorite activity!

Measurements:

12″ x 12″ Card Stock for Base
6″ x 12″ DSP for Accents

For directions on how to create this fun card holder, see Maymay’s video on her YouTube channel! I hope to make a video of my own for this soon, but I just wasn’t able to get one done with everything happening at the moment. I hope to get some videos up for you again in May!

Beautiful FALL Bouquet

This Beautiful FALL Bouquet card was inspired by a bouquet of flowers in my living room. I love how FALL these flowers look with the four main colors and it was super easy to put together!

I also use some adhesive sheets to turn the thinlit shapes into STICKERS to make it WAY easier to adhere to the card than trying to use liquid glue. See how I do it in this video and be sure to comment, like, and click the subscribe button at the end of the video!
