Stamper’s Showcase May 2020 Blog Hop Summertime

Hello Kre8tors and welcome to another Blog Hop! I wanted to make a super cheerful and bright card and I think I did a pretty decent job. 😉 I used the Mountain Air Bundle along with the Peaceful Moments stamp set to create this card today. Let’s take a closer look!

We are hopping with the Stampers Showcase Blog Hop today! This month’s theme is Summertime and when I think of Summer, I think of bright colors, fun times, and being outside! I absolutely love how these colors play together! They are so bright and cheerful! I wasn’t sure about putting them all together at first, but the Melon Mambo as the focal point on top really lets the Daffodil Delight, Bermuda Bay, and Granny Apple Green play together nicely in the background.

I stamped three trees from the Mountain Air stamp set and cut them out with the coordinating dies. I also wanted to use some of that fun Granny Apple Green ribbon, but I just couldn’t decide whether I wanted it on top of or behind the trees. I ended up putting it on top, but what do you think would look better? Leave me a comment and let me know!

I stamped the background with the reverse side of the moon. Technically, this stamp set is considered “reversible” and I wanted a polka dot background, so it worked out great! I also stuck on a couple of sequins for a little more bling. Can you spot the missing sequin? 😂I put down a glue dot, but forgot to stick a sequin to it! Let me know in the comments if you found it!

Check out my YouTube video below showing you step by step how I put this card together. I really hope you enjoyed this card today, and Subscribe to my YouTube channel for lots of great card tutorials!

ICS May 2020 Blog Hop It’s a Guy Thing

Hello Kre8tors and welcome to A Guy Thing in Black and White! Today I’m featuring the Mountain Air Bundle to create a fun card using what I’m calling the “Tuck Technique”. Head to my YouTube channel for a video tutorial, sit back, relax, and enjoy!

We are hopping with the Inspire, Create, & Share Blog Hop today! Be sure to scroll down to the bottom of the post and click that Next button when you’re done here to hop along to the next amazing project!

We were challenged with creating a black and white card that was masculine. I chose to use the Mountain Air Bundle. It’s really the most masculine set I have, along with maybe Rooted in Nature. I haven’t played with this bundle much, and really wanted to ink it up!

I wasn’t quite sure how to start, though I knew I wanted to use black as my card base. I decided white embossing would look great on the black background, and some black stamped images on white cardstock would offer a nice contrast. So, I started inking and stamping, and finally landed with these images.

I was at a loss for how to layer the mountains to make them look half way decent with what I had to work with. So I decided to do the “tuck technique” where I partially cut out the tree line with the coordinating die cut, and then I ‘tucked’ the mountains behind the trees.

I added some ‘stars’ to the night sky by using my Whisper White Craft Ink Refill, and dotted it all over. I think it gave this card that little extra boost. I forgot to get out my Wink of Stella Glitter Brush! That would have really stepped this card up a notch!

I cut two card mats for the inside of the card. This allows for LOTS of space to write, as well as covers up the tucked mountains on the top flap of the card. I thought about stamping the inside, but wasn’t exactly sure what I wanted to write on this for the recipient, so I left it blank until it’s filled out.

I hope you enjoyed my project today! If you did, please watch my video tutorial on YouTube, and subscribe to my channel while you’re there. It really helps me out and allows me to keep making videos for you to enjoy.

ISS April Blog Hop Color Challenge

Hello Kre8tors and welcome to another Blog Hop! We are hopping with the Ink. Stamp. Share. Blog Hop today! This month’s theme is a color challenge. We’ve been given Rococo Rose, Highland Heather, Granny Apple Green, and So Saffron to play with and I couldn’t be more thrilled!

I’m so excited to share my card with you! Be sure to scroll down to the bottom of the post and click that Next button when you’re done here to hop along to the next amazing project!

I made my first card using only the four inks and the Music From The Heart stamp set and although I had followed the directions explicitly, I wasn’t sure I was quite happy with the outcome. It’s cute for a quick, #simplestamping card. But as Ariel best put it, “I want more”. Sooo….

I decided to take to Pinterest, where I get so much of my inspiration, and I saw a beautiful Color Blocking Technique pin from Jennifer McGuire. I decided to give it a try and am SO pleased with the results.

There are two techniques on this card: Color Blocking and Emboss-Resist. I used my Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder and my Heat Tool to stamp poppies and leaves all over a card mat. Then I cut the card mat apart, as noted in my template and in the measurements section below.

Then I used sponge daubers to color in each section, blending two colors together. The inks resist against the embossed areas, leaving behind a gorgeous background.

I stamped a small sentiment on the outside between two of the pieces and added some of our Basic Jewels Rhinestones for a bit of bling and shimmer. And Ta-Da! Beautiful card that I think follows the color challenge rules quite well.
