Sea of Textures Birthday Card

Hello Kre8tors and welcome! Today I’m sharing the birthday card that I made for my niece, who just turned 2! I wanted to make a special card for her that matched the wrapping on her gift. The colors I chose were Night of Navy, Crumb Cake, and Basic Gray. I love these neutrals together and think they made a beautiful card.

I CASE’d this card from the lovely Stamp It Up With Jaimie. You can see her original card by clicking here. I did change a few things such as the colors, but stuck mostly with the same overall design. I really loved the simplicity of the card, and the clean look it has.

I had to add a little sparkly shimmer so I used my Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush and painted the octopus to make him shine. I also threw in a few of the Basic Jewels Rhinestones for a little more sparkle. I really enjoyed how this card turned out! What do you think?

Measurements:

Basic Gray Card Base: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″, Score @ 4-1/4″
Night of Navy Card Mat: 3-3/4″ x 5″
Whisper White Card Mat: 3-5/8″ x 4-7/8″ (+scrap)
Whisper White Inner Mat: 4″ x 5-1/4″

July 2018 Kre8tors Blog Hop Card Sketch Challenge

Welcome Kre8tors to another Kre8tors Blog Hop! So glad you have joined us! Whether this is your first time hopping with us, or you’re a seasoned hopper, you are in for a treat! This month, the members of KBH from around the world are bringing you inspiration in the form of a sketch challenge! This is one of my favorite sketches and I’m so glad to bring it back to debut some awesome products from the new Annual Catalog!

Here’s a copy of the sketch challenge that was issued to the members of KBH. You might recognize this sketch from a previous post involving some super cute pandas from Sale A Bration earlier this year.

I decided to use the beautiful Sea of Textures stamp set to re-create this sketch challenge. I am SO in love with how it turned out! I used Berry Burst for the frame and Octopus with a Crumb Cake card base, and whisper white scrap pieces.

I really love all the different nautical textures in this set, like the fish scales and fishing net. I also just can’t get enough of that octopus! I just think he’s so different and fun!

Be sure to watch my tutorial to see how this card came together, and scroll down to the big ol’ NEXT button to hop along to Lisa’s project. I love how she interpreted this sketch challenge! Thanks so much for hopping with us, and we will see you soon!

Measurements:

ICS Blog Hop Introducing the New In Colors

Hello and welcome to the Inspire, Create, Share blog hop for June! So glad you could join us for this exciting hop to introduce the brand new 2018-2020 In Colors! There are so many wonderful demonstrators on this hop, so I hope you make sure to scroll to the bottom of the post and click that Next button to keep the hop going!

Introducing 5 brand new colors to the Stampin’ Up! Family. Here are the In Colors for 2018-2020!

I really wanted to play with one of the brand new stamp sets from the Annual Catalog too, so I decided to stamp this adorable octopus from the Sea of Textures stamp set in each of the new colors! I love how this stamp turns a clean and quick card into a fun set using each of the colors.

I was surprised just how bright the Pineapple Punch was! It shows up fantastically on the Whisper White cardstock. I used the Stamparatus to get the same placement for my sentiment on each card.

The Stamparatus made it so easy and quick to stamp these 5 cards. I can’t wait until Christmas card season arrives so that I can use this handy new tool to whip through all those cards!
