Sea of Textures Birthday Card

Hello Kre8tors and welcome! Today I’m sharing the birthday card that I made for my niece, who just turned 2! I wanted to make a special card for her that matched the wrapping on her gift. The colors I chose were Night of Navy, Crumb Cake, and Basic Gray. I love these neutrals together and think they made a beautiful card.

I CASE’d this card from the lovely Stamp It Up With Jaimie. You can see her original card by clicking here. I did change a few things such as the colors, but stuck mostly with the same overall design. I really loved the simplicity of the card, and the clean look it has.

I had to add a little sparkly shimmer so I used my Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush and painted the octopus to make him shine. I also threw in a few of the Basic Jewels Rhinestones for a little more sparkle. I really enjoyed how this card turned out! What do you think?

Basic Gray Card Base: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″, Score @ 4-1/4″

June Kre8tors Blog Hop Dads & Grads

Welcome back to the Kre8tors Blog Hop! So glad you are joining us for this Dads & Grads themed hop! Be sure to scroll down to the Roll Call List to hop along to the next demonstrator for some wonderful inspiration!

I am SUPER excited about my project today because it’s colorful, fun, and DIFFERENT from anything I’ve done! The bundle I’ve used is called Sailing Home and includes the cling mount stamp set along with the Smooth Sailing dies. This sea-worthy set was the first item I purchased from our new annual catalog, and I’m so glad because it’s been amazing!

I tried to replicate the sailor’s knot in the stamp set on the front of my card for a little added something. This is a very special card for a very special man in my life; my father. He’s been my true North, for sure! Teaching me right and wrong, showing me how to be independent and strong.

He is also a fan of tie-dye, so I thought the vibrant and colorful background was perfect for him. This card features a technique that I haven’t used before. I’m not sure if it has an official name, but let’s just call this the Partial Die Cutting technique.

Want to see how it’s done? Check out the video below, and then come back and hop along to see more amazing inspiration for this Dads & Grads themed hop!

A Happy Match

Hello Kre8tors and welcome back! Today we are getting FESTIVE with TWO amazing bundles, and I am so excited to share this project with you! I received a comment on my YouTube channel asking me to CASE the back of the Holiday Catalog. I hadn’t even really taken much notice to the projects on the back page until I read that comment. When I took the time to look at that photo, I realized how AMAZING it was! So thank you so much, Diana, for the suggestion!

This card used a LOT of TLC! I didn’t have any Designer Series Paper on hand, so I decided to ATTEMPT to make my own PLAID! Wow, that was tough. After one failed attempt, I decided to try a different method, and so this DIY DSP Plaid background paper was born! I go into a lot of detail in my YouTube video, link below. Be sure to check it out to see how this card came together!

All in all, using the materials I had on hand, I think this CASE’d card came out very well! What do you think? Are you ready to give this card a try with the materials that YOU have on hand? If you do, take a photo and upload it to Social Media, and TAG me! I’m on Instagram, Twitter, and Pinterest as @MKre8tions. You can also post a photo to my Facebook page!

One of my favorite things about the Winter Woods Bundle is how unique the framelits are! You are able to create some beautiful dimension and depth with these framelits. Love adding a hint of Wink of Stella to the boughs as well! When pairing the Winter Woods Bundle with the Rooted in Nature Bundle, it does make a Happy Match indeed! These sets work beautifully together! I can’t wait to play more!

Measurements:

Garden Green Cardbase: 4-1/4″ x 11″, Scored @ 5-1/2″
Whisper White for DIY DSP Plaid: 3-3/4″ x 5″
Shimmer White: Approximately 4″ x 4″
Whisper White Scraps: Approximately 4″ x 5″
Cherry Cobbler Scraps: Approximately 3″ x 2″

Inspire, Create, Share Blog Hop with Lots of Lavender

I am so excited to be part of the Inspire, Create, Share Blog Hop this month! It’s my first month in this hop, and I am surrounded by so many wonderfully talented ladies. This month’s theme was The Sale-A-Bration Continues, with a color challenge! We were challenged to only use colors from this color palette:

I chose to use the set Lots of Lavender, and I added an additional challenge for myself, to make this card masculine! I think it turned out pretty well, what do you think?

I love how the Linen Thread adds a fun accent behind the sentiment. I used Thoughtful Banners for my Happy Father’s Day sentiment, but there are so many great projects you can do with just the Lots of Lavender set!

I also love how the lavender bunch is a 2-Step Stamp, with the main outline and accompanying solid bow, leaves, and stem. I have a special trick for stamping the leaves and stem at the same time that you can see in my video below.

Don’t forget to scroll to the bottom of this post and click the Next button to continue this awesome hop! There are so many wonderful projects to see from the members of the ICS Blog Hop!

Remember, during Sale-A-Bration you earn FREE rewards just for shopping! Every $50 spent earns one free Level 1 reward. Spend $100 and choose TWO free Level 1 rewards or one free Level 2 reward. There’s no limit to how many FREE items you can earn!

Measurements:

Night of Navy Cardbase: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″, score @ 4-1/4″
Crumb Cake Mat: 4″ x 5-1/4″

Petal Palette Bundle Reverse Negative Card

I went live over on my Facebook page for the first time in a little while to make up for the Stamping Saturday that I missed at the beginning of the month. I featured my favorite bundle of the Occasions catalog, Petal Palette (of course! lol) I used the negative images that I cut out using the coordinating thinlits dies and made this fun reverse negative card!

I really love how this card turned out! The colors I used are Night of Navy and Lemon Lime Twist. They compliment each other so well, and the contrast is sharp but appealing. For the sentiment I used Whisper White cardstock along with the label framelit from the Petals & More Thinlits Dies. I trimmed the label slightly so that you would be able to see the trellis cutout behind.

I also used some of our Lemon Lime Twist Finely Woven Ribbon and layered our Whisper White Organza Ribbon over the top for added texture. A few pearls adorn the sentiment, and boom! Done!

Measurements:

Night of Navy Cardbase: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″, score @ 4-1/4″
Lemon Lime Twist Inside Mat: 4-3/16″ x 5-7/16″
Whisper White Scrap for Sentiment
Lemon Lime Twist Scrap for Trellis
