Stamper’s Showcase All You Need is Love

Hello Kre8tors and welcome to another Blog Hop! I’m Melissa Tennison and I’m an Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator in Oregon, USA. We are hopping with the Stampers Showcase Blog Hop today! Be sure to scroll down to the bottom of the post and click that Next button when you’re done here to hop along to the next amazing project!

The projects I’m sharing with you today are a couple of masculine cards featuring brayer colored hearts and silver heat embossing. I have never played with brayers before, but after making these brayer colored hearts, I think I’m in love!

For the first card, I put down a silver foil mat, then cut out a heart using the Be Mine Stitched Dies. I also brayer colored a scrap of Whisper White cardstock with Pretty Peacock and Mango Melody. Then I cut some smaller hearts out of that.

I heat embossed my sentiment in silver embossing powder on a piece of vellum. Behind the vellum is a small strip of Pretty Peacock cardstock to accentuate the sentiment.

I had quite a few pieces left over, so I decided to make a second card. For the large heart, I used the die cut from the previous card and heat embossed the sentiment in silver embossing powder.

Then I used the leftover brayer colored hearts and staggered them using dimensionals and glue dots. I love how these colored hearts turned out! Have you used a brayer before? I highly recommend you give it a try! It’s so much fun seeing the colors roll and blend. Take a peek at my video tutorial below!

KBH Spring Color Challenge

Welcome Kre8tors! It’s finally here once again, the Kre8tors Blog Hop! This month is a color challenge, and I’m really excited about it because it has some beautiful colors. I found this beautiful photo and knew I wanted to use it to welcome Spring. I chose five colors that I felt represented the photo, and challenged my hoppers to use at least 3 of the 5 colors on their projects.

This hop was definitely a challenge for me! Not because of the color limitations, but because my husband and I just MOVED this weekend! I was so busy this week, I didn’t have time to make a really detailed card. But that doesn’t mean I can’t still create! In the chaos of all our moving boxes, no office set up, and everything packed away, I managed to pull out some inks, a stamp set, some card stock, and my Stamparatus. And boom! Simple Stamping to the rescue!

I decided to use the stamp set Colorful Season because it’s so versatile and fitting for this project. I wanted to use a larger sentiment as the focal point and add some pops of color with the little flowers. I really like how it turned out! What do you think? Super easy to create with virtually any stamp set that has a sentiment and smaller embellishment stamps.

Here’s the photo and color challenge palette that the Kre8tors Blog Hop were tasked with using. What do you think? Would you like to give it a try? Post your card to Facebook or Instagram and tag me, @MKre8tions and I’ll give you a shout out!

Passion for Punches ICS Blog Hop

Hello Kre8tors! Welcome back to another fun project! Today we are hopping with the ICS Blog Hop, a group of Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators from around the globe. This month’s theme is Passion for Punches, so I decided to make a beautiful Fall Wreath card using the Leaf Punch that coordinates with the stamp set, Painted Harvest.

I have been ready for fall since Spring started! I am definitely a Fall baby, and love everything about the season. I’m so excited for the smell of the Bath & Body Works candle, Leaves. I’m excited for Pumpkin Spice EVERYTHING! I’m excited about the cool days when the sun is still shining, otherwise known as sweater weather. So, to reflect my amazing mood right now, I wanted to share some bright, vibrant Fall colors on this gorgeous Fall Wreath card.

The sentiment I used was from Rooted in Nature and I love every, little, thing about this set! First of all, it comes in a BUNDLE with the stamp set AND the framelits, so you can save 10%!!! Second, this stamp set has not one, but TWO cases full of beautiful, nature inspired stamps. I really love it when a stamp set has both beautiful images as well as coordinating sentiments and sayings.

I also am so in love with a stamp set that coordinates beautifully with OTHER sets! Rooted in Nature pairs really well with Painted Harvest, the set I used when creating the focal point of my card. Combining old classics with new favorites is a huge benefit! If you want to see how I put this beautiful wreath together using the “paper gasket” method, click on the video link below! And after you watch my video, be sure to click that Next button to hop along to the next stop on this ICS Blog Hop!
