ICS Blog Hop Hello New Colors

Hello Kre8tors and welcome to another Blog Hop! I’m so excited to share the brand new In-Colors with you today! Every two years, Stampin’ Up! does a mini color refresh with the In-Color collections. This year the new set debuted, and I’m so anxious to share them with you!

We are hopping with the Inspire, Create, & Share Blog Hop today! Be sure to scroll down to the bottom of the post and click that Next button when you’re done here to hop along to the next amazing project!

There are five brand new, beautiful colors that we will play with today! I wanted to make a card layout that would work well for all the colors. I decided to stick with a solid white background, and add the pops of color to make each one really stand out. I also was excited to play with a brand new bundle from the Forever Greenery Suite Collection.

Although the new In-Color ink pads are not quite available, I was still able to make this fun card using my Versamark stamp pad and some White Stampin’ Emboss powder. Heat embossing sentiments is a GREAT way to get color and words on your card without the words blending into the background.

I also really love how the Stazon in Jet Black can help to accentuate the colors. I stamped one of the greenery images on Whisper White card stock, then cut it out with the coordinating dies. I placed it on top of the designer series paper, but behind all of my other elements to really help them stand out.

Making multiple cards of the same layout in different colors is one of my all time favorite ways to craft! Not only do I get a bunch of cards at the end, but I get to see how each color works with my design. If you haven’t tried “assembly line” crafting yet, you might want to consider giving it a try!

ICS May 2020 Blog Hop It’s a Guy Thing

Hello Kre8tors and welcome to A Guy Thing in Black and White! Today I’m featuring the Mountain Air Bundle to create a fun card using what I’m calling the “Tuck Technique”. Head to my YouTube channel for a video tutorial, sit back, relax, and enjoy!

We are hopping with the Inspire, Create, & Share Blog Hop today! Be sure to scroll down to the bottom of the post and click that Next button when you’re done here to hop along to the next amazing project!

We were challenged with creating a black and white card that was masculine. I chose to use the Mountain Air Bundle. It’s really the most masculine set I have, along with maybe Rooted in Nature. I haven’t played with this bundle much, and really wanted to ink it up!

I wasn’t quite sure how to start, though I knew I wanted to use black as my card base. I decided white embossing would look great on the black background, and some black stamped images on white cardstock would offer a nice contrast. So, I started inking and stamping, and finally landed with these images.

I was at a loss for how to layer the mountains to make them look half way decent with what I had to work with. So I decided to do the “tuck technique” where I partially cut out the tree line with the coordinating die cut, and then I ‘tucked’ the mountains behind the trees.

I added some ‘stars’ to the night sky by using my Whisper White Craft Ink Refill, and dotted it all over. I think it gave this card that little extra boost. I forgot to get out my Wink of Stella Glitter Brush! That would have really stepped this card up a notch!

I cut two card mats for the inside of the card. This allows for LOTS of space to write, as well as covers up the tucked mountains on the top flap of the card. I thought about stamping the inside, but wasn’t exactly sure what I wanted to write on this for the recipient, so I left it blank until it’s filled out.

I hope you enjoyed my project today! If you did, please watch my video tutorial on YouTube, and subscribe to my channel while you’re there. It really helps me out and allows me to keep making videos for you to enjoy.

April ICS Blog Hop – It’s a Girl Thing

Hello Kre8tors and welcome to another Blog Hop! We are hopping with the Inspire, Create, & Share Blog Hop today and this month’s theme is Monochromatic Girl! Be sure to scroll down to the bottom of the post and click that Next button when you’re done here to hop along to the next amazing project!

I decided to use the Tea Together stamp set with the coordinating Tea Time dies for this card. I knew I wanted to make it as girl-y as possible! I chose to do a Mother’s Day card and use Flirty Flamingo as my color. We were also allowed to use White, Black, or Vanilla.

I knew I wanted to use shading to get different gradients of this color, so I pulled out my Stampin’ Blend markers in Flirty Flamingo. I used the light pen to color in the images and the dark pen to shade in the darker areas. I really like how the images turned out. For more texture, I threw in the Lace 3D Embossing Folder.

I used my Stampin’ Blends to create an ombre effect on some vellum. I also heat embossed my sentiment using Versamark, the Flirty Flamingo Classic Stampin’ Pad, and Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder. I love this technique because you can emboss in any of our colors! I also threw in some polka dot mesh ribbon and some pearls for more girly vibes.

Check out my video tutorial below, and keep scrolling to hop to the next project!

February ICS Blog Hop Thinking of You with Honey Bees

Hello Kre8tors and welcome to another Blog Hop! We are hopping with the Inspire, Create, & Share Blog Hop today! Be sure to scroll down to the bottom of the post and click that Next button when you’re done here to hop along to the next amazing project!

Today’s card features the adorable Honey Bee Bundle, yet again! I just can’t get enough of these beautiful little bees! I’m taking a scrap of Whisper White that I had previously cut out some of the images from the Detailed Bees Die Cuts and putting it to work. I was excited at the idea of using this ‘used’ piece of cardstock and turning it into a card.

If you have a piece of “trash” like a cut-out scrap that was partially used for another project, take a before and after photo and use the hashtag #trashtotreasurekre8tions and I will pick a few to feature on my Instagram!

I stamped my sentiment on a scrap of Whisper White cardstock, and then took the larger solid bee die cut and cut it out. It fits perfectly in this little die cut. I layered that on top of the honeycomb cut out, inset with some Daffodil Delight hexagons from the honeycomb die cut. I also added a piece of Daffodil Delight Ruched Ribbon. Love this ribbon!

I used the FREE Sale-A-Bration item, Metallic Baker’s Twine & Sequins Combo Pack to put these beautiful teal colored sequins in the shaker portion of this card. I used them in the Hive as well as behind the detailed gold bee die cut. I love the contrast of the teal against the Daffodil Delight.

This gold detail bee die cut is absolutely stunning! The wings have incredible detail. I can just see a swarm of these covering a card and looking breathtaking. If you get really ambitious, you can even cut this out from two contrasting colors of card stock and inlay the pieces from one into the other. That would be a master level jigsaw puzzle for sure!

I had also previously stamped and colored in this little bee. I stamped it with Stazon ink and colored it in using the Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Write Marker from the Brights collection. I inset him behind the cutout on my ‘used’ card mat. I love the look of inset versus popped up sometimes. I think it’s a nice little change. It reminds me of the game Operation. Do you remember that game?

I really love how this fun little shaker card turned out. It’s so bright and cheerful! I really hope you give this one a try. I love that the sequins are behind the detailed bee and the hive. It’s like a two-in-one shaker! The trick is to keep your compartments contained where you want the shaker parts to be placed. The Foam Adhesive Strips are perfect for that job!

I really hope you enjoyed my project for today’s blog hop! Here’s my video tutorial detailing how this card came together. ICS Blog Hop Fabulous Fall

Hello Kre8tors and welcome to another Blog Hop! We are hopping with the Inspire, Create, & Share Blog Hop today! The theme this month is Fabulous Fall and I am BEYOND EXCITED about this one! I love everything Fall! Colder weather, cozy snuggles, glowing candles, warm beverages… Ahhh! So much YES! Join us as we celebrate my favorite season with some beautiful Fall inspired projects!

Be sure to scroll down to the bottom of the post and click that Next button when you’re done here to hop along to the next amazing project!

I decided to take a Christmas set and turn it into my Fall inspiration for this blog hop. I used the Tidings All Around bundle from the brand new Holiday Catalog (which is live TODAY!) with some of our brand new In Colors to create this wonderful wreath.

The sentiment “I am thankful for you” came from a classic set, Painted Harvest, which is available in the Annual Catalog. It’s a beautiful set, one which I almost used for this month’s project, but I opted to challenge myself and see how I could turn a Christmas stamp set into a Fall project.

The wreath was cut from some Pretty Peacock cardstock, and the branch and “wheat” top accents are done with Early Espresso and Terracotta Tile. I really love the punch of rusty-orange the Terracotta Tile lends to this project. I think it really ties together the colors and screams Fall!

I’m so THANKFUL that you stopped by to see my project today! Don’t forget to hop along to Audra’s blog to see what exciting project she has created for you! Click the Next button below!
