April 2020 Stamper’s Showcase Mini Catalog Last Chance

Hello Kre8tors and welcome to another Blog Hop! We are hopping with the Stampers Showcase Blog Hop today! Be sure to scroll down to the bottom of the post and click that Next button when you’re done here to hop along to the next amazing project!

In today’s hop we are featuring products from the retiring Mini Catalog. This catalog ends at the beginning of June, so there’s still a little time to get your favorite products before they retire or transition into the new Annual Catalog. Sadly, the Honey Bee Bundle is one that is not transferring.

I wanted to really showcase those little bees, so I used Basic Black, Whisper White, and Daffodil Delight to really make those bees pop! I also wanted to add a shadow effect behind the bees, so I used the bee dies to cut out the silhouettes in Basic Black and then popped the bees up with dimensionals. I also colored in the edges of the bee stamps with my Dark Basic Black Stampin’ Blend marker to really make them stand out against the white and yellow background.

I wanted to give the bee hive a different shape than a smooth dome, so I fussy cut the edges and gave them a more bumpy look. I heat embossed the sentiment from the Label Me Bold stamp set onto Basic Black Card Stock and punched it out using the Classic Label Punch. I love how this pops on the Daffodil Delight.

For the larger bee, I cut out a solid large bee from Daffodil Delight card stock and put it offset under the large stamped bee. This gives it a little different look than the smaller bees with the black shadow. I really do like how it turned out.

I think one of my most favorite things about this card is the ‘pollen’ in the background. I love how the stamp from the Label Me Bold set resembles bee pollen. I heat embossed it onto my Whisper White card mat using White Stampin’ Emboss Powder, and then I used my Aqua Painter to paint Daffodil Delight ink all over. This gives it an emboss resist effect. Alternatively, you could paint the background first, and then emboss over the top after it has dried completely.

Sadly my video cut out right at the end of filming, so I wasn’t able to film the entire inside, but I took the two detailed bee cut outs and sandwiched the solid bee cut out in between them. This gives a really fun dimension to the large bee and makes it stand out against the Daffodil Delight background.

I also took some of the left over honeycomb pieces and adhered them randomly in the corners of the inside card mat. I love how it turned out, and can’t wait to get it in the mail! Little Twinkle Pink Card

Hello Kre8tors! I thought we would take another trip into the Annual Catalog. There are some amazing products in there, and this Little Twinkle Bundle is no exception! You saw on the last post we made a super simple Little Twinkle Navy Card. Today we are stepping it up and throwing in some Petal Pink and Watercoloring!

Of course I was scouring Pinterest for some awesome cards to make using this adorable Little Twinkle Bundle and I came across a pin from Charlet Mallett over at Painted Orange. The outer design of my card is almost identical to hers, but the inside is much different! Hers was a fantastic fun fold card, which I didn’t realize when I made my card. I just loved how the front looked! So I made mine a basic card, but I definitely recommend you check out her fun fold video here!

The layering on this card is amazing and I love how everything stands out! The watercolor heart constellation really makes this entire card pop! The soft colors in the Twinkle Twinkle DSP all compliment each other so well. Pink and Mint are so gorgeous together, and then throw in some dark Night of Navy and it all really works!

The Layering Circles Framelits Dies are really the star of this show, creating the beautiful scalloped circle frame around the heart. The small strip of DSP running across the middle of the heart is a welcome contrast of color.

And we can’t forget those tiny little Sparkle Glimmer Paper stars cut out using the coordinating Twinkle Builder Punch, included in the Bundle. Take a peek at my YouTube video below to see how this card all came together! Thanks for stopping by!

Little Twinkle Navy Card

Welcome back Kre8tors! Today we are playing with the Little Twinkle Stamp Set for this super adorable and easy card! For as simple as the background is, we are spicing it up with some heat embossing on our sentiment and the heart constellation on the vellum card stock.

I also added some beautiful silver metallic thread behind the sentiment to give it a little more oomph. This card was CASE’d from Ashley Fifer over at StampedAF. I originally saw a Pin on Pinterest without her information, so she contacted me to let me know this is her lovely design!

I love how the Navy on this card compliments the silver accents. It’s so simple, yet stunning at the same time. This stamp set is perfect for all sorts of occasions from a Baby Shower to a Valentine, to an all-purpose card. I love these types of cards for when certain unexpected occasions arise.

I forgot just how much I love heat embossing until I made this card, especially when embossing on vellum. It just looks so elegant and beautiful! What do you think? Do you love heat embossing?

Be sure to watch my video tutorial! It’s at the bottom of this blog post.

Kre8tors Autumn Color Challenge

Hello, Kre8tors! I’m Melissa from Melissa’s Kre8tions. Welcome back to the 2018 Kre8tors Blog Hop! Today we are celebrating Autumn with a color challenge! I’ve provided our hop participants with the following color palette to create their projects. I think they’ve all done an amazing job, what do you think? If you’d like to create your own project using this color scheme, upload a picture of your finished project to social media and tag me on your post so that I can see your wonderful creation and share it with my followers! See the Social Media buttons at the bottom of this post to find out where you can share!

So, our color challenge theme is Autumn, and the photo above is the inspiration for our color palette. I challenged our lovely demonstrators with using at least 3 out of 5 of the colors above, and in addition to those, they are allowed to use black, white, and vanilla. Here’s what I came up with!

As I was perusing Pinterest, I came across a photo that had a beautiful dark background with colorful leaves all over. I clicked on the photo to find out more, however there was no link to follow. The only information that was on the pin said Patsy Collins and Josephs Coat Technique. She did a great job using the photo to show step by step how this technique works. I wanted to recreate her technique using the beautiful Rooted in Nature stamp set. I am in LOVE with how it turned out!

The colors I chose to use are Pumpkin Pie, Real Red, and Granny Apple Green. We were allowed to use Black and Whisper White as well. I think these colors are so beautiful together! They remind me of Autumn and rainbow sherbet ice cream! Yum!

Check out my video tutorial to learn how to make this fun and colorful background using the Joseph’s Coat Technique! Don’t forget to hop around to all of the very talented demonstrators that are part of our wonderful Kre8tors Blog Hop! They’ve all worked very hard on these projects! Click the next button below, and use the Roll Call list if you get lost along the way.

Love Notes Sketch Copper Inspired

I recently discovered two amazing challenges that I’m excited to participate in for the first time! I’ve used pieces from the January 2018 Paper Pumpkin Kit to create this fun alternate Valentines Day Card. It has beautiful copper accents on a fun Flirty Flamingo water-colored and embossed background.

The first portion of this card was inspired by The Paper Players’ Clean & Simple Challenge: Love Notes #PP377 I loved all the different challenge cards the other crafters came up with and am excited to submit my first challenge card with them. Learn more by clicking the image below.

I’m also excited to submit my first challenge with the Global Design Project. They had a sketch challenge this week, #GDP122 I really liked this sketch, and knew I wanted to incorporate my Paper Pumpkin pieces with this. Learn more about their challenges by clicking on the image below.

Thanks so much for stopping by today to see my project! I hope you enjoyed, and be sure to watch my coordinating video tutorial to see how mine came together.
