Die Cut Inlay Technique Anniversary Card with A Wish For Everything

Hello Kre8tors! Welcome to my blog if you’re new, and welcome back if you’ve been around for awhile! I’m sharing a fun technique with you called Die Cut Inlay. I needed to make an anniversary card for my parents’ who were celebrating 36 years of marriage. I knew I wanted it to sparkle, so I used our Sparkle Glimmer Paper front and center.

I used the Word Wishes Dies that coordinate with the A Wish For Everything stamp set. I cut out the ‘Happy’ from the Glimmer paper layer first, then carefully lined up the Pretty Peacock Card Mat behind the Glimmer paper layer and ran it back through with the die a second time.

I was careful not to cut too deep so that my Pretty Peacock layer was still attached to the mat. This just made it easier to adhere to my card. If you try this, and it cuts out all the way, don’t worry! Just glue it down when you get ready to adhere everything to your card base.

I saved the little pieces that cut out of the glimmer paper ‘happy’ sentiment so that I could glue them into the Pretty Peacock layer to really make the inlay stand out. I stamped the word Anniversary from this stamp set and punched it out using the Classic Label Punch. Then I glued this to a strip of Pretty Peacock, cut it out with my Paper Snips, and used Mini Glue Dots to adhere it off center on the card.

After I was done, it still needed a little something else. So I decided to use the gorgeous Noble Peacock Rhinestones, which at the time I made this card are on sale because they are retiring! If there are any left, you might want to grab a pack or two because these are beautiful!

Share Sunshine Digital Download

Hello Kre8tors! Welcome to my blog if you’re new, and welcome back if you’ve been around for awhile! Today I’m sharing a card I made using Stampin’ Up!’s Share Sunshine Digital Download.

Stampin’ Up! is committed to making a difference in our global communities and caring about people first. As part of their Making a Difference program they’re offering a product giveback opportunity to support organizations that are helping COVID-19 frontline responders and communities vulnerable to the pandemic.

You can purchase the Share Sunshine PDF Download and Stampin’ Up! will donate 100% of the proceeds to COVID-19 efforts. Demonstrators do not earn any commissions from this purchase.

This sentiment, among MANY others, is included in the digital download. It was designed in Terracotta Tile and Highland Heather, so that was my color inspiration for this card. I wanted to pair it with the First Frost Bundle, since it will be retiring in June when the new Annual Catalog is launched.

I used my Highland Heather Classic Stampin’ Pad to pink up the flowers of this stamp, and then used my Old Olive Stampin’ Write Marker to ink up the leaves and stem. I used an Aqua Painter to watercolor the vellum circle I pulled out of my scrap pile, and painted Terracotta Tile before adhering to the card base.

Another sentiment that was included with the Share Sunshine Digital Download was “This too shall pass” which is such a lovely sentiment. I cut it out and adhered it to the inside with three of the rosettes from the First Frost stamp set.

Watch my video tutorial here, or head on over to my YouTube channel, give the video a like, and subscribe if you haven’t already! It means so much to me that you enjoy my videos. I love making them for you!

September 2019 Kre8tors Blog Hop Brides and Babies

Welcome Kre8tors! So excited to have you here for the Kre8tors Blog Hop! This month’s theme is Brides and Babies! That means our blog hop group could make a card that had something to do with brides, weddings, bachelorette, etc. or babies like a welcome baby card, baby’s birthday card, etc.

Be sure to use that Next button below to hop along to the next amazing blog post for some more inspiration!

I have TWO weddings and FOUR babies (one of which is mine!) happening in my life within the next year, so it was a tough choice on projects. Because I just made a baby card a few posts back, I decided to focus on the soon-to-be brides in my life and make a card and tag set to send with their gifts.

I searched Pinterest for some inspiration and came across Artisan Design Team Member Narelle Farrugia’s post using First Frost and was absolutely in awe! The colors and design were so gorgeous, I knew that I wanted to make it as exact as I could! If you haven’t seen her designs, definitely check her out by clicking here.

The colors I chose are Grapefruit Grove, Calypso Coral, Crumb Cake, and Basic Gray. These colors work wonderfully together! The bright colors against the neutrals really is what made me fall in love with these designs. Take a peek at my video below to see how these projects came together!

August 2019 Kre8tors Blog Hop Color Challenge

Welcome Kre8tors! So excited to have you here for the Kre8tors Blog Hop! This month we are participating in a Color Challenge! I’ve created the color challenge graphic below based on beautiful farms in the Pacific Northwest of the United States. The image below gave several color choices, but I pulled out 5 that I thought would be slightly challenging together. Our participants were to choose at least 3 and use them on their projects. Use the Next button and Roll Call list below to hop along and see how everyone’s projects turned out!

The five colors we had to work with include Gray Granite, Early Espresso, Cherry Cobbler, Petal Pink, and Highland Heather. The colors I chose to use were ALL but the Cherry Cobbler. Here’s my project!

I decided to go with the First Frost stamp set and coordinating Frosted Bouquets die cuts. I adore this set and have found it to be very useful for a number of occasions, not just Christmas.

I used a Wink of Stella Glitter Brush and an Aqua Painter dipped in the Highland Heather and Petal Pink colors to splatter a little texture on the background of the card mat. I really like this effect and think it adds a lot to the card.

I accented the flowers with some of the Clear & Frosted Epoxy Droplets. These little droplets are perfect with this set because of the frosted look. I really like the bling they add!

And finally, adding the darker banners behind the flowers really helps them stand out against the white background. The color challenge called for Gray Granite, but I think I may have grabbed Smoky Slate on accident. Whoopsy! Close enough, I suppose!

Be sure to use that Next button below to hop along to the next amazing blog post for some more color inspiration! And check out our Guest Designer this month, Libby Fens! She has a wonderful project for you to check out. Just click the Guest Designer image below. Be sure to pop back here and continue on with the hop once you see her wonderful creation!

May Kre8tors Technique Blog Hop

Hello and welcome back to the Kre8tors Blog Hop! I’m really excited for this hop because it’s all about techniques! Each of the wonderful demonstrators that are participating with us in this hop have showcased either a stamping, inking, or folding technique of some sort. This is a great opportunity to see some amazing projects and perhaps learn something new! Be sure to scroll down to the bottom of each post and click that Next button to hop along to everyone’s projects!

The technique I’m showcasing sort of sneaks up on you when you open the card. The front of the card looks pretty normal, very clean, not a lot going on. Very simple. Beautiful on it’s own, but then you open it…

And all of that dimension and detail fill the card! This technique is called the “Inside Tunnel Card” and I learned this from watching fellow crafter Jennifer McGuire on YouTube. Her ideas are so creative, I love to CASE them using Stampin’ Up! products. One of the best parts about this card is that it folds FLAT so it can be mailed easily!

I featured First Frost on this card for all the imagery, and the sentiments are both from Tea Together. This card of course is for my wonderful Mother, and she’s going to be receiving it TODAY! So I hope she’s not watching the video or following her Facebook feed today! But in case she is, then I’d like to say, Happy Mother’s Day!

Want to learn how to create this beautiful and different card? Watch the video below, and don’t forget to subscribe to my YouTube channel and click the bell icon to be notified when I upload a new video!
