The Kre8tors First VLOG Hop

Welcome Kre8tors! So excited to have you here for the first Kre8tors VLOG Hop! Today we are sharing our projects via YouTube videos! So head on over to my YouTube channel to get started. Once there, click on the description of the video to hop along to everyone’s projects.

I absolutely love CASEing (Copy And Share Everything) the catalogs. Not only can we use our catalogs to find great products to buy, but we can also use it as a design book! There are so many beautiful projects in there, the possibilities are nearly endless!

I chose to CASE one of the cards from the Forever Greenery Suite Collection on page 108 in the brand new Annual Catalog. I was so pleased with how this card turned out. It came together very quickly with all of the coordinating products from the collection.

I love the speckled background. I used the speckled stamp from the Forever Fern stamp set and stamped it onto the embossed background in the same color as my card stock. It gives it a watermark effect and just adds a little texture.

The leaves are all cut out of the designer series paper using the coordinating die cuts. I love that Stampin’ Up! designs their products to all play together so well. It makes crafting so simple and quick!

Stained Glass Technique – January Paper Pumpkin Alternate with Petal Palette

One of my favorite things is when a project comes together from a flicker of an idea. This Stained Glass card was inspired by the January Paper Pumpkin Kit, Heartfelt Loves Notes. After putting all of the beautiful Valentines Cards together from this kit, I had a few pieces left over. Specifically the left overs from punching out all the labels. When I saw that piece, I immediately thought it would be perfect for a window! So I had to whip this beautiful card together.

I used several pieces from the Paper Pumpkin Kit including the label negative piece, metallic edged ribbon, Rich Razzleberry Enamel Dots, a piece from the card bases included in the kit, and a stamp from the included stamp set.

The stained glass was so much fun to make! I started by using some images from the Petal Palette stamp set and heat embossed them using Copper Stampin’ Emboss Powder on vellum. Then I layered it with the label negative piece.

The Stampin’ Blends are perfect for coloring ribbon, like the included Metallic Edge Ribbon from January’s kit. It’s almost addicting how fun it is to color the ribbon with our blends! I just want to color the whole spool!

This card was so much fun to put together, I think I may be using this technique quite often to build some truly inspiring cards! I love using bits and pieces from the Paper Pumpkin Kits to make alternate cards, like my Love Notes Sketch Card.

Measurements:

Rich Razzleberry Cardbase: 4-1/4″ x 11″, score @ 5-1/2″
Whisper White Mat: 4″ x 5-1/4″
Vellum: Cut to size depending on your stained glass frame.

CASEing the Catalog: Facebook Live Replay with Petal Palette

Yay! I got a beautiful box of goodies last night and decided to open it LIVE on my Facebook page. Those that were able to join me live got to see these two gorgeous cards come to life using, you guessed it, the Petal Passion Suite of products straight from the Occasions Catalog! Woo!

The first card we put together was CASE’d and modified slightly. The sample in the catalog showed a square card, but I wanted to make it a standard size, 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″. I was VERY surprised at how beautifully the Lemon Lime Twist stamped on Pool Party cardstock! It turned out BEAUTIFUL!

Using one of the Petal Pairs Embossing Folder on Whisper White cardstock, and tearing the edges adds a little dimension to this beautiful card. I also really liked how the Organza Ribbon looks tucked slightly under the embossed piece. The white embossing on the Basic Black cardstock really POPS and stands out in an elegant way. Not to mention blinging it up a bit with the Petal Passions Embellishment and some Rhinestones!

This isn’t my “typical” color scheme, but I was pleasantly surprised with how it all came together and how much I actually LOVE this beautiful card! I just want to keep making them! I can’t stop! Seriously! I might need assistance…

Measurements:

Whisper White Cardbase: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″, score @ 4-1/4″
Pool Party Mat: 4″ x 5-1/4″
Whisper White Strip: 2-1/4″ x 5″
Basic Black Circle: 2-3/8″ (Stitched Shapes Framelits)

For the second card, I got to dig into the Petal Passion Designer Series Paper and my new Stampin’ Blends in Old Olive along with the Color Lifter! I still have some playing around to do with the Blends, but I really like how the Color Lifter softened the edges of the coloring.

I also used the Glitter & Clear Epoxy Shapes to add some “dew drops” to the flowers. I LOVE the glitter! The Stitched Shapes Framelit circle I used was slightly larger than the one they used in the catalog, but still looks beautiful on this non-standard sized card.

I love how we can cut apart sentiments to create personalized sayings, like the For You on this card. I stamped two different sentiments and cut out the words I wanted to use.

Measurements:

Whisper White Cardbase: 5″ x 6″, score @ 3″
Petal Passion DSP: 3″ x 5″
Whisper White Circle: 2-3/4″ (Stitched Shapes Framelits)
Whisper White Scrap: Approx. 4″ x 4″

In The Trees Black Emboss Technique

Have you ever had a project that you wanted to use black embossing powder on but couldn’t find any? Good news, you can emboss in black without having to use black embossing powder! Today’s project features a set from the Occasions catalog that launched this month, In The Trees. I really love this set, and knew right away I wanted to emboss the tree before coloring it. I love how the embossing powder adds texture and shimmer to this project.

The colors I used for the leaves are Tranquil Tide and Lemon Lime Twist. I think the contrast between the light and dark leaves is beautiful. The Soft Suede tree trunk adds a nice, natural element.

I also used the Aqua Painter with Soft Sky for the shadow under my tree. I love the watercolor effect this gives my card, but a Blender Pen would work really well, too.

Whisper White Cardbase: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″, score @ 4-1/4″

Petal Palette Split Coloring Technique Card

Okay, it’s no surprise how much I am digging on Petal Palette. I really hope you’re a fan of this stamp set, because I’ve made a couple projects with it so far (Wedding Card and a Top Secret Project TBA), and I have a LOT more planned. I think the split coloring technique looks awesome with this set!

If you’re not a fan of the basic black strip across the card, you could certainly use ribbon. That would look LOVELY! I can just picture this card in all sorts of color combinations!
What color would you use?

Measurements:

Rich Razzleberry Cardbase: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″, score @ 4-1/4″
Whisper White Mat: 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″
Basic Black Strip: 1/2″ x 5-1/2″
