Die Cut Inlay Technique Anniversary Card with A Wish For Everything

Hello Kre8tors! Welcome to my blog if you’re new, and welcome back if you’ve been around for awhile! I’m sharing a fun technique with you called Die Cut Inlay. I needed to make an anniversary card for my parents’ who were celebrating 36 years of marriage. I knew I wanted it to sparkle, so I used our Sparkle Glimmer Paper front and center.

I used the Word Wishes Dies that coordinate with the A Wish For Everything stamp set. I cut out the ‘Happy’ from the Glimmer paper layer first, then carefully lined up the Pretty Peacock Card Mat behind the Glimmer paper layer and ran it back through with the die a second time.

I was careful not to cut too deep so that my Pretty Peacock layer was still attached to the mat. This just made it easier to adhere to my card. If you try this, and it cuts out all the way, don’t worry! Just glue it down when you get ready to adhere everything to your card base.

I saved the little pieces that cut out of the glimmer paper ‘happy’ sentiment so that I could glue them into the Pretty Peacock layer to really make the inlay stand out. I stamped the word Anniversary from this stamp set and punched it out using the Classic Label Punch. Then I glued this to a strip of Pretty Peacock, cut it out with my Paper Snips, and used Mini Glue Dots to adhere it off center on the card.

After I was done, it still needed a little something else. So I decided to use the gorgeous Noble Peacock Rhinestones, which at the time I made this card are on sale because they are retiring! If there are any left, you might want to grab a pack or two because these are beautiful!

Share Sunshine Digital Download

Hello Kre8tors! Welcome to my blog if you’re new, and welcome back if you’ve been around for awhile! Today I’m sharing a card I made using Stampin’ Up!’s Share Sunshine Digital Download.

Stampin’ Up! is committed to making a difference in our global communities and caring about people first. As part of their Making a Difference program they’re offering a product giveback opportunity to support organizations that are helping COVID-19 frontline responders and communities vulnerable to the pandemic.

You can purchase the Share Sunshine PDF Download and Stampin’ Up! will donate 100% of the proceeds to COVID-19 efforts. Demonstrators do not earn any commissions from this purchase.

This sentiment, among MANY others, is included in the digital download. It was designed in Terracotta Tile and Highland Heather, so that was my color inspiration for this card. I wanted to pair it with the First Frost Bundle, since it will be retiring in June when the new Annual Catalog is launched.

I used my Highland Heather Classic Stampin’ Pad to pink up the flowers of this stamp, and then used my Old Olive Stampin’ Write Marker to ink up the leaves and stem. I used an Aqua Painter to watercolor the vellum circle I pulled out of my scrap pile, and painted Terracotta Tile before adhering to the card base.

Another sentiment that was included with the Share Sunshine Digital Download was “This too shall pass” which is such a lovely sentiment. I cut it out and adhered it to the inside with three of the rosettes from the First Frost stamp set.

Window Shaker Card

Hello Kre8tors! Welcome to my blog if you’re new, and welcome back if you’ve been around for awhile! Thank you for coming! Today I’m sharing these fun Window Shaker Cards with you! Shaker cards are a great way to send an interactive hello in these strange times. I love how bright and cheery they are with those fun sequins swirling about between the window sheets. Which is your favorite? The Honey Bee or Peaceful Poppies?

I think my favorite would have to be the HONEY BEE card! I just can’t get over those adorable little bees floating around inside the shaker. And those BRIGHT iridescent sequins are really calling to me right now!

Having to stay inside is making me crave brightness like never before, and the shimmery, rainbow-y goodness this card gives is just so refreshing and makes me happy!

I used the Stitched Rectangles Dies to cut out the window on this Honey Bee card, and I stamped the bees in Petal Pink ink. I used the coordinating Detailed Bee Dies to cut them out very quickly!

On the inside I stamped the flowers on a separate scrap and cut them out, although looking at this now you can just stamp them flat on the card! Silly me! 😉 I used Mint Macaron to also stamp the sentiment about 1-1/2″ below the score line on the card base. I added a large bee with glue dots to the inside lower right hand corner so that it would be concealed by the sequins until the card was opened.

I’m so happy with how this card turned out! Truth be told, I actually made the Poppy card first, but I messed up and wanted to make one even better! Turns out, it was a good thing I made another video, because I was able to show how I used the Stitched Rectangle Dies and also made the same card with just the Paper Trimmer!

Can you tell what’s wrong with this version? Leave me a comment on this post or on my video and let me know what you think it is!

I really do love the red, black, clear, and gold sequins in this Poppy card though! If it were Autumn, I think this card would definitely be my favorite of the two.

And of course those Poppy Elements are so wonderful to add a quick bit of fun inside the card! It really makes a huge impact, I think. Be sure to check out my YouTube tutorial below and SUBSCRIBE to my channel if you haven’t already! It really helps me out!

Cut a rectangle “window” from the front of the card base and card mat so you have a 1″ border all the way around each piece. Optionally, you can use the Stitched Rectangle Dies.

Portrait Frame Card with the Peaceful Poppies Bundle

Hello Kre8tors and welcome back! Today I’m sharing a birthday card for my Mother-in-law. My husband made (yes, he made this himself!!! You can see it in my YouTube video below!) her a checkbook wallet and I wanted to wrap it up with tissue paper and some of our yummy, bright, Daffodil Delight Ruched Ribbon. The color was so cheerful, as I was tying the bow I thought to myself, I need to use this on a matching card. So I did!

I started with just a glimpse of an idea in my head, knowing I wanted to use this beautiful ribbon to match the wrapping on her gift. And from that blossomed this fun, Portrait/Frame card using the Peaceful Poppies Suite Bundle products. I used several items from the suite bundle. Some of my favorites include the sequins and elements.

I’m calling this a Portrait or Frame Card because it really looks like a work of art that has been framed and hung on a wall! The top card mat is popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals, which makes the Daffodil Delight background have a ‘sunken’ effect. And with the watercoloring technique I used to paint the Peaceful Poppies Elements, it really looks like a work of art! I love how bright these colors turned out!

I used the coordinating Peaceful Moments stamp set to stamp the sentiment Happy Birthday. I used the Painted Labels Dies to cut out the sentiment, but I ran it through the die cutting machine twice to get a smaller die cut. Check out my YouTube video to see how I did this. I then took my Basic Black Dark Stampin’ Blend Marker to color the border to make the sentiment stand out a little more.

And of course I wanted to stamp on the inside, so I used this sentiment from the Peaceful Moments stamp set. I love how this set has coordinating sentiments so you can feature one on the outside and inside.

I really love how happy and cheerful this card turned out! The yellow just makes me smile, and I hope it made my mother-in-law, and you, smile too!

A Wish for Everything Square Card

Hello Kre8tors and welcome back! I’m so excited to share a beautiful card with you today. This card features the Flowering Foils Specialty Designer Series Paper from the second release Sale-A-Bration items. It’s FREE with a $50 purchase. I paired it with the A Wish For Everything Bundle and love how they work together!

I wanted to color in these beautiful flowers, so I used my Stampin’ Blends in an array of colors to make these flowers really pop. I used a combination of light and dark blends to create shadowing effects on the roses and leaves.

This card is not a standard size. Because I was delivering this to someone very special in person, I wanted to make a card size that I wouldn’t typically make since I didn’t have to mail it! It’s fun to give cards in person and be able to have full creative license and not have to stick to rigid guidelines for sending in the mail without extra postage.

I used the beautiful Flowering Foils Specialty DSP and colored in the roses with a variety of Stampin’ Blends markers. It was so much fun to color in the paper and it was very relaxing, too. It’s nice to find something relaxing to do to take my mind off things.

I fussy cut around the edges of the flowers and then glued this piece to the top of my card base. I added a few Champagne Rhinestones around the cluster of flowers for some bling. I used my Stampin’ Blend markers to color in an ombre background, and used that to cut out the word happy with the Word Wishes dies. Then I used the coordinating stamp ‘wishes’ from the A Word For Everything stamp set and heat embossed it with Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder.

This card went to a very special family and I’m so glad I could brighten their day with a handmade card. I know a lot of people that could use a little smile right now, so I’ll be making a lot of cards, I’m sure!
