Clean & Quick 20 and Step-It Up – Beautiful Peacock – Tie-Dye Technique

Yay for Tuesday! I went ALL weekend without creating, and let me tell you, it almost broke me. I was SO excited to jump back in today to make this fun card using a Sale-A-Bration set, Beautiful Peacock. I’m playing along with the Inspire. Create. Color Challenge! This month’s color challenge was Bermuda Bay, Daffodil Delight, and Melon Mambo. I love the tie-dye technique on the peacock, and can’t wait to show you how I did it!

I think these colors are so lovely together, especially when you are able to mix them together to create NEW colors! By using the Daffodil Delight with the Melon Mambo, I was able to make a sort of Mandarin Orange color in the peacock feathers.

I made both a Clean & Quick version and a stepped up version of this card. The stepped up version added some swirly Black Metallic Thread and shiny Rhinestones. I love both of these cards and think they are a perfect way to look forward to some warmer, spring weather.

So fun to participate in the Inspire. Create. Color Challenge this month! Pop on over and check out all of the other wonderful projects from some very talented demonstrators!

Clean & Quick Cards SERIES 19 – Panda Party

Today we are “hanging out” with the adorable panda from Party Pandas. He’s casually hanging from his balloon with a sentiment from the Occasions Catalog stamp set In The Trees that reads “We need to hang out more.” I love this sentiment paired with the adorable Party Pandas set. The only way you can get this adorable panda is for FREE during Sale-A-Bration happening right now!

I’ve used the Stampin’ Write Markers set of In Colors for 2016 – 2018. The colors I used are Dapper Denim for the shadow below the panda, and Flirty Flamingo for the shading on the balloon. I used a Blender Pen to fade the colors out slightly and used a technique where you color with the markers on an acrylic block to pick up the ink with the Blender Pen.

This technique would also work well with the Aqua Painters, although I would recommend using our Watercolor Paper if you use the Aqua Painters. The Watercolor Paper is specifically made to help soak up that water and leave a beautiful color without the paper “pilling” or warping too much.

By purchasing the basics below to make this card, you can earn the Party Pandas stamp set for FREE during Sale-A-Bration!

Clean & Quick Cards SERIES 18 – Mixed Drinks

I’m bringing back a card I made WAY back when… I adore this clean & quick card and know quite a few people that would LOVE to get one of these sweet cards in the mail. It’s such a fun set, and features a lot of great drinks both of the alcoholic and non-alcoholic nature.

For such a FAST and EASY card, it sure does have a lot of character! I think it’s because the shadow below the glass adds some texture to an otherwise very clean card. The Cherry Cobbler ink makes a great red wine, such as a Merlot but could easily be substituted for So Saffron for a white wine like Riesling. Mmmm, my favorite!

Clean & Quick Cards SERIES 16 – Eastern Beauty

There’s something about pink and black that I love. I think it’s the sharp contrast between a Bright and Neutral color. Eastern Beauty takes some of the smaller stamps and lets them shine in this Clean & Quick card.

This card could easily be stepped up by adding a stitched shape where the sentiment is and adding some thread or baker’s twine and of course adding some bling with rhinestone embellishments.

Clean & Quick Cards SERIES 15 – Coloring Card with Falling Flowers

I used to color ALL the time as a child. I loved coloring so much, I had every color of crayon, marker, colored pencil, paint… Then as time passed I stopped coloring as much. I think I thought I wasn’t good enough at it to keep going. It doesn’t matter if you don’t think you’re good enough at something. If it inspires you, don’t stop.

I love this card because you can either color in the entire card, OR you can leave it black and white and give it to someone with a set of markers so they can do their own coloring in!

This card features the masking technique, as well as a few coloring tips that I have picked up from art classes I took WAY back when. 🙂 I hope you enjoy the video, and the coloring inspiration.
