April ISS Blog Hop – Anything Goes!

Hello Kre8tors and welcome to another Blog Hop! We are hopping with the Ink. Stamp. Share. Blog Hop today! Be sure to scroll down to the bottom of the post and click that Next button when you’re done here to hop along to the next amazing project!

Today’s project features a fun-fold technique called the Tri-Fold Pocket Card. I needed to make a birthday gift for someone special and wanted to make it interactive and have several people write sentiments inside. I saw this project on Pinterest and wanted to give it a try! This is just Part 1 of the Tri-Fold Card, how to make the base. Part 2 will show you what I put on the inside! You can see that here.

I started with a sheet of 12 x 12 Designer Series Paper. The paper I used was part of this year’s Sale-A-Bration and is no longer for sale, however you can choose from a huge variety of 12 x 12 DSP in the Stampin’ Up! Catalogs. You’ll learn the technique for making this card, and then use what you have on hand or ask your demonstrator to recommend some coordinating products to make this project.

I used the entire piece of DSP, so there was no waste! I love projects like this! Then I used some scraps of Whisper White for the images on the front and the inserts in each pocket. I colored in this DSP with my Stampin’ Blends and love how it turned out. I’ve also made my own DSP before by stamping and coloring on a piece of 12 x 12 Whisper White cardstock. That’s always a great staple to have on hand for a project like this!

Here’s the template for the Tri-Fold Pocket card base. You’re going to score the 12″ x 12″ cardstock all the way at the 6″ mark. Rotate the card stock 45 degrees, and then score all the way on the 3″ line. Then with both the 6″ and 9″ lines, you are going to score from the halfway 6″ mark down. Cut away the X in one large strip and do not discard, because you are going to use that piece! Check out my video tutorial below to find out where!

On the front I used a piece of our Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon to keep the card tied closed so it’s like a little present when the recipient opens it. I hope they enjoy unwrapping a ‘gift’ from our family, even though we can’t give it to them in person!

I used the Meant To Be bundle along with the A Wish For Everything stamp set for the front of this card. Hearts aren’t just for Valentine’s Day! I absolutely love the font combination of the “Happy Birthday” as well. Just add a few champagne rhinestones and boom! You have a lovely, fun-fold card!

A Wish for Everything Square Card

Hello Kre8tors and welcome back! I’m so excited to share a beautiful card with you today. This card features the Flowering Foils Specialty Designer Series Paper from the second release Sale-A-Bration items. It’s FREE with a $50 purchase. I paired it with the A Wish For Everything Bundle and love how they work together!

I wanted to color in these beautiful flowers, so I used my Stampin’ Blends in an array of colors to make these flowers really pop. I used a combination of light and dark blends to create shadowing effects on the roses and leaves.

This card is not a standard size. Because I was delivering this to someone very special in person, I wanted to make a card size that I wouldn’t typically make since I didn’t have to mail it! It’s fun to give cards in person and be able to have full creative license and not have to stick to rigid guidelines for sending in the mail without extra postage.

I used the beautiful Flowering Foils Specialty DSP and colored in the roses with a variety of Stampin’ Blends markers. It was so much fun to color in the paper and it was very relaxing, too. It’s nice to find something relaxing to do to take my mind off things.

I fussy cut around the edges of the flowers and then glued this piece to the top of my card base. I added a few Champagne Rhinestones around the cluster of flowers for some bling. I used my Stampin’ Blend markers to color in an ombre background, and used that to cut out the word happy with the Word Wishes dies. Then I used the coordinating stamp ‘wishes’ from the A Word For Everything stamp set and heat embossed it with Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder.

This card went to a very special family and I’m so glad I could brighten their day with a handmade card. I know a lot of people that could use a little smile right now, so I’ll be making a lot of cards, I’m sure!

5,000 YouTube Subscriber Special & Giveaway

Hello Kre8tors! I’m so very excited to finally be posting my 5,000 YouTube Subscriber Special! I’ve been posting my video tutorials on YouTube since 2016 and am so excited to be hitting this milestone. Thank you so much for all of your support and encouragement over the years. This community is so wonderful and I’m so lucky to have all of you supporting me in doing what I love!

Be sure to head over to my Specials page for your chance to enter to win 1 of 2 Stampin’ Up! Tote Bags!

I have a VERY special project and tutorial for you today. I was definitely inspired by the Coastal Crafter, Emma Goddard’s beautiful cards using the Flowering Foils Designer Series Paper, a FREE Sale-A-Bration item, from the second release, with a qualifying purchase. She is a member of the 2020 Stampin’ Up! Artisan Design Team. You can check out her beautiful work by visiting her website and following her on Instagram.

I decided to use her card as a baseline to create mine. The background has a very geometric characteristic, so I’m calling this technique the Geometric Cut technique. You can see how I go about it in my YouTube tutorial, which you can watch below or on my channel.

I started by using the Petal Pink Classic Stampin’ Pad to color in the Golden Honey Designer Series Paper using a variety of techniques ranging from sponging, daubing, watercoloring, and direct to paper. I love how each one of them turned out, and am excited to play around with more techniques soon.

After I had my DSP colored in, I cut all the pieces I needed from the Gold Foil and Basic Gray card stock. Then I used the Geometric Cut technique to cut each of the three main papers the exact same way so they would come back together like a puzzle piece when I swapped them around.

After building my background, I worked on stamping, embossing, die cutting, and adhering all the little pieces to the front of the card. I am in LOVE with the Honey Bee Bundle and thought it would be PERFECT for this rose gold style card. I’m going to use these as the Thank You cards I send to my customers this month!

I also added some Rose Gold Metallic Thread and Champagne Rhinestones for a little extra pizzazz! These additional elements have the perfect touch to finish off this WOW card, I am just so in love with it. I think it might have something to do with my love for anything and everything Rose Gold!

Check out these other images. Just give them a click to see a larger photo.
