Portrait Frame Card with the Peaceful Poppies Bundle

Hello Kre8tors and welcome back! Today I’m sharing a birthday card for my Mother-in-law. My husband made (yes, he made this himself!!! You can see it in my YouTube video below!) her a checkbook wallet and I wanted to wrap it up with tissue paper and some of our yummy, bright, Daffodil Delight Ruched Ribbon. The color was so cheerful, as I was tying the bow I thought to myself, I need to use this on a matching card. So I did!

I started with just a glimpse of an idea in my head, knowing I wanted to use this beautiful ribbon to match the wrapping on her gift. And from that blossomed this fun, Portrait/Frame card using the Peaceful Poppies Suite Bundle products. I used several items from the suite bundle. Some of my favorites include the sequins and elements.

I’m calling this a Portrait or Frame Card because it really looks like a work of art that has been framed and hung on a wall! The top card mat is popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals, which makes the Daffodil Delight background have a ‘sunken’ effect. And with the watercoloring technique I used to paint the Peaceful Poppies Elements, it really looks like a work of art! I love how bright these colors turned out!

I used the coordinating Peaceful Moments stamp set to stamp the sentiment Happy Birthday. I used the Painted Labels Dies to cut out the sentiment, but I ran it through the die cutting machine twice to get a smaller die cut. Check out my YouTube video to see how I did this. I then took my Basic Black Dark Stampin’ Blend Marker to color the border to make the sentiment stand out a little more.

And of course I wanted to stamp on the inside, so I used this sentiment from the Peaceful Moments stamp set. I love how this set has coordinating sentiments so you can feature one on the outside and inside.

I really love how happy and cheerful this card turned out! The yellow just makes me smile, and I hope it made my mother-in-law, and you, smile too!

Sea of Textures Birthday Card

Hello Kre8tors and welcome! Today I’m sharing the birthday card that I made for my niece, who just turned 2! I wanted to make a special card for her that matched the wrapping on her gift. The colors I chose were Night of Navy, Crumb Cake, and Basic Gray. I love these neutrals together and think they made a beautiful card.

I CASE’d this card from the lovely Stamp It Up With Jaimie. You can see her original card by clicking here. I did change a few things such as the colors, but stuck mostly with the same overall design. I really loved the simplicity of the card, and the clean look it has.

I had to add a little sparkly shimmer so I used my Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush and painted the octopus to make him shine. I also threw in a few of the Basic Jewels Rhinestones for a little more sparkle. I really enjoyed how this card turned out! What do you think?

Measurements:

Basic Gray Card Base: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″, Score @ 4-1/4″
Night of Navy Card Mat: 3-3/4″ x 5″
Whisper White Card Mat: 3-5/8″ x 4-7/8″ (+scrap)
Whisper White Inner Mat: 4″ x 5-1/4″

Materials:

Petal Palette Birthday!

Hello Kre8tors, I’m Melissa from Melissa’s Kre8tions and welcome to another Kre8tors Blog Hop! I’m really excited about this one because it’s my birthday! How fun that my birthday falls on hop day! To celebrate, our theme is birthdays! So take a moment to enjoy your favorite beverage and hop around to all of the talented demonstrators from around the globe participating in today’s hop!

My card today features my favorite stamp set, Petal Palette! I’ve also thrown in the coordinating Petals & More Thinlits dies, and the new Buffalo Check background stamp. I used the Round Robin technique on my Stamparatus to stamp my circle (or square) of flowers. Love this technique! It’s just another great way to use this amazing stamping tool!

I used Mint Macaron for my card base and the ink on the buffalo check background and Blackberry Bliss as my card mat and ink on my focal image and sentiment. I love this layout design, as it is perfect to use with nearly any stamp set!

When using the Stamparatus to do the round robin technique, you can get very different results depending on the size of your stamp, and where you place it in your template. You can see in the first photo it looks slightly more rounded, and in the second photo it is more square and more spread out. See my video below to find out how I created my focal image on the Stamparatus!

I hope you enjoyed my project and video tutorial today! Please be sure to click the next button below to hop on over Rebecca-Jo’s talented blog to see her fun birthday project!

Birthday Card with Rooted in Nature

Welcome back Kre8tors! I recently found myself needing a birthday card for my grandmother and knew right away I was going to choose Rooted in Nature. This set definitely embodies her spirit with the trees and leaves. Green is a color she’s always been drawn to, so I knew I had to use Shaded Spruce.

I had so much fun CASE’ing this card from Angelique over at Stempelkeuken. She did a lovely job, and when I saw this card I knew it had to be a birthday card for my grandmother! Check out the video tutorial I posted below to see how it all came together!

Measurements:

Whisper White Cardbase: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″, Scored @ 4-1/4″
Shaded Spruce Mat: 4″ x 5-1/4″
Whisper White Mat: 3-3/4″ x 5″
Vellum: 1″ x 5-1/4″ + Scrap for Leaf Punch
Whisper White Scraps: Approximately 4″ x 5″

Ink & Share Blog Hop Sneak Peek

Good morning, Kre8tors! Welcome to this month’s Ink & Share Blog Hop! I’m so excited to share with you an awesome sneak peek from the brand new Annual Catalog that will be available to customers on June 1st!

Without further ado, I introduce to you the beautiful 2018-2020 In Colors!

Blueberry Bushel

Call Me Clover

Pineapple Punch

Grapefruit Grove

Lovely Lipstick

I’ve used three of these five brand new colors on the project I’m sharing with you today! I wanted to make a birthday card for a sweet little 8 year old and saw the perfect opportunity to let these colors shine using Swirly Bird!

I took the paint splatter stamp from Swirly Bird and used Pineapple Punch, Grapefruit Grove, and Lovely Lipstick to create a fun background on Whisper White cardstock. I cut out a few swirls out of Basic Black cardstock from the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits Dies to create the number 8.

I also took some of our Whisper White Baker’s twine, and dyed it with the Lovely Lipstick ink pad to put behind the celebrate sentiment from Thoughtful Banners. I think all the loops and swirls coordinate perfectly with this theme!

Thanks so much for hopping on over here today! I really enjoyed making this card and I hope you enjoyed seeing it! Don’t forget to hop on over to the other talented demonstrators by clicking on the next button below or using the Roll Call List to help guide you.

Next up is the oh so lovely, Lisa Kmiec! Her creation is just fantastic and I can’t wait to share it with you!
