A Beginner’s Guide to Card Making

Hello Kre8tors and welcome to A Beginner’s Guide to Card Making! Whether you’ve been here before or you’re brand new to my page, I am going to show you some awesome tips that every stamper needs to know. I’m sharing some beautiful and simple cards with you today that were CASE’d (Copy and Share Everything) from fellow Stampin’ Up! Independent Demonstrator, Wendy Cranford. She inspired me to use the Meant To Be Bundle to showcase how you can create a simple card, and step it up a little when you’re ready to advance to that next paper crafting level!

The first card has a super simple and clean look. It has one card stock strip running the width of the card, and two layered circles off set that were punched out using Stampin’ Up!’s Circle Punches. There are three hearts stamped to the left just above the card stock strip. The rest of the card is blank, lending to the clean look.

The second card is a stepped up version, so we have introduced a few more elements. We have added a card mat and stamped all over to create our own “Designer Series Paper”. I like to call this DIY DSP. We have the same band, but it’s cut just a bit shorter to span the width of the card mat. The circles have now been stitched using framelits dies, and popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The final touch is adding a Heart Epoxy Droplet that was colored in using a Stampin’ Blends Maker which is alcohol based, so the color won’t rub off.

And that’s it! That’s how you can take a clean and simple card and step it up by just adding a few additional materials. I hope you enjoyed these photos! Be sure to check out my video tutorial to see how easy it is to create these wonderful cards!
