Kre8tors Blog Hop December 2020 Holiday

Hello everyone! Welcome to a special pop-up edition of the Kre8tors Blog Hop! So glad you could join us for this month’s hop. As the founder of the Kre8tors Blog Hop, I needed to take a little time off to realign my life’s priorities and take care of some personal matters. Now that I’ve had a few months to do just that, I wanted to have a pop-up hop this month to get back in the swing of things! And very possibly continue the hop regularly into 2021, but time will tell if that will become a reality. So make sure you follow along with your favorite demo for updates!

So, in the meantime, I hope you are enjoying your holidays this year! I hope you are all staying safe! And here is a little Holiday inspiration to hopefully help you get through the last week before Christmas!

I made three super simple cards for my Christmas cards this year. I wanted to be able to produce a lot of them in a short period of time AND I wanted to be able to mail them easily without having to be hand canceled. So I made them as flat as possible. You could definitely step these up with some dimensionals and other embellishments.

The first card features a retired Santa image, but any image could be put there to add a little something extra to the star of this card, the DSP! This specialty DSP is so incredibly fun with the different North Pole ads. Each card is unique if you use these ads to cut out and frame with decorative DSP as I’ve done here.

The second card features the bells stamped and embossed in gold, with some greenery behind it and a strip of gauze ribbon. I really like the simplicity and minimalist style of this card with the sentiment stamped below. I think the DSP helps set off the gold bells.

And lastly, we have the most simple of them all. I cut a strip of DSP to adhere to the card, trimmed the edges flush, then added my sentiment that was cut using a die cut from the Tasteful Labels Dies. I used some gold cording to tie the bells together and then adhered them with Stampin’ Seal to the DSP.

Here’s a quick little video showing how simple these cards are to assemble once all of the pieces are stamped and cut. My mother and I put a few kits together to give to my grandmother so that we could all assemble the cards together in a ZOOM meeting. Even though we weren’t in the same room, we still had a great time crafting together!

Kre8tors Blog Hop August 2020 Anniversary

Welcome Kre8tors! So excited to have you here for the Kre8tors Blog Hop! Be sure to use that Next button below to hop along to the next amazing blog post for some more anniversary inspiration!

This card is lightning fast today! It’s a very simple card that I made for my husband for our anniversary coming up on the 12th. One of his favorite colors is red, so I wanted to focus on that and use Cherry Cobbler as the base. I added a simple card mat to the front and inside. I used the Tasteful Touches stamp set and coordinating dies to cut out the label in Smokey Slate card stock. I stamped the floral sprigs with Cherry Cobbler ink and the sentiment is done with StazOn.

I just wanted to let you all know that I am taking a short break from videos and blog posts here. I will still be an active demonstrator, as long as my selling limits will allow, and I will still support my customers and team members. I’m working on a new business venture over at 3 mile lane co specializing in custom stickers, cold cups, and mugs. If you’re interested in following me over there, I will be posting to a new YouTube channel very soon. You can subscribe to that channel by clicking here.

Thank you so much for the last four years of your support! I have learned so much and grown even more. I appreciate all of your encouragement and love this community! But it’s time for me to make a decision to earn more income for my family and for myself. I hope you all understand, and know that it’s not forever, it’s just for now.

Card Base: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″

July 2020 KBH Tropical Nights Color Challenge

Welcome Kre8tors! So excited to have you here for the Kre8tors Blog Hop! Be sure to use that Next button below to hop along to the next amazing blog post for some more color challenge inspiration!

This was our inspiration image. I loved how the palms were shadowed in the foreground with the beautiful sunset reflecting off the clouds in the background.

The colors that were pulled from this image included Basic Black, Basic Gray, Rococo Rose, Night of Navy, and So Saffron. The pink, blue, yellow scheme offers so many options because almost every color can be made from those three bases!

At first I wanted to use all three of those colors, but my first card attempt didn’t quite pan out. So I decided to go back to my favorite, simplistic card style and have a Very Vanilla base with some Night of Navy and Basic Black.

I love the texture of the Old World Paper Embossing Folder. I wanted to feature that on this very minimalistic card. I used Very Vanilla cardstock to cut a standard card base. I cut a card mat to go on top and ran that through my embossing machine using the Old World Paper Embossing Folder. I love how dynamic the texture looks!

I used a Sponge Dauber and my Night of Navy Classic Stampin’ Pad to distress the card mat a bit and give it a little color. I added a globe from the World of Good Memories and More Card Pack. I love how easy these stickers are to apply!

The Basic Black and Gold Foil strip of DSP is from the World of Good Specialty Designer Series Paper and makes the perfect accent to place behind my sentiment. I stamped the words in Night of Navy and cut it out using the globe die from the World Map Dies.

To add a little bit of oomph to the inside of the card, I stamped one of the large globes in Night of Navy. I really love decorating the inside of the cards, but often forget! I’m so glad I remembered on this one. It’s going to be a special birthday card for my uncle.

And that’s it! This card came together quickly with just a few materials from the World of Good Suite Collection. I love buying products in the suite collections because I know I can make so many different projects with just a few supplies!

KBH June 2020 Masculine Card

Welcome Kre8tors! So excited to have you here for the Kre8tors Blog Hop! This month’s theme is dedicated to the special guys in your life. My dad’s birthday is this month as well as Father’s Day here in the U.S. so I really wanted to make a special card for him! I got to play with the World of Good Suite Collection for this card and love all the beautiful elements!

Be sure to use that Next button below to hop along to the next amazing blog post for some more masculine projects inspiration!

I love all the layers and textures on this card. It’s something totally out of my norm, but I really enjoyed the process of creation. It took over an hour to make, but my video is condensed into about 16 minutes.

I had no idea what I wanted to create when I started and just kind of played around until this idea started forming. You can notice two of the globes on this card, one is from the sticker sheet in the memories and more card pack from the suite collection. The other is also partially from the sticker pack… check out my video to see how I made it!

I love this torn vellum look with the gold fibers. This was so different, but so fun to make! It looks like the world is bursting through the vellum.

The black cardstock with the gold foil grid is also from the memories and more card pack, as well as the Cinnamon Cider DSP. I ran that through the Old World Paper 3D Embossing Folder to give it some texture and then used a sponge dauber to distress.

I am so pleased with this card and can’t wait to give it to my father at his Birthday/Father’s Day party! Can you tell there’s lots of layers to this card? I probably used 30 dimensionals! Okay, maybe that’s a stretch… or is it…? Watch the video and comment on this post or the video with your guess!

I’m also working on my hand lettering. I haven’t used Stampin’ Up!’s Stampin’ Write Marker in Basic Black to letter before, but I think with a little more practice it will work beautifully!

A couple additional stickers from the memories and more card pack and this card is done! I love how it turned out! Check out my YouTube video below to see it comes together, and to check out my tricks sprinkled throughout the video! Don’t forget to…

ISS Blog Hop Anything Goes

Hello Kre8tors and welcome to another Ink. Stamp. Share. Blog Hop! Today I’m sharing my Quick DSP Card using the Forever Greenery Suite Collection. These cards can be made quickly and they are relatively flat, which is great for mailing!

Be sure to scroll down to the bottom of the post and click that Next button when you’re done here to hop along to the next amazing project!

This card features the Forever Fern stamp set, the coordinating Forever Flourishing Dies, the gorgeous Forever Greenery Designer Series Paper, and the beautiful ribbon from the Forever Greenery Trim Combo Pack. I absolutely love all the shades of green on this card!

I love doing a “z” style ribbon fold behind my sentiments. I think it adds just the right amount of texture. This ribbon stands out well against the designer series paper layer, and the stripes compliment the fern images nicely.

I achieved the variegated look on my ferns by inking my stamp in a lighter color, and then going over the edges with a sponge dauber and a darker color. This is a great technique to play with!

I finished this card off with a few pearl accents and love how it turned out! It’s so simple and easy to make. Using the beautiful designer series paper really adds some fun to the background.

Check out my YouTube tutorial below and be sure to head directly to my YouTube channel so you can Subscribe while you’re there!
