ICS Christmas Card Inspiration

Yay! I am SO excited that it’s December! Winter is one of my all time FAVORITE seasons! Everything is so festive, I love the colder weather, and adore wrapping up in a blanket and enjoying a hot beverage watching movies. COZY is my jam! And with winter comes Christmas! And with Christmas comes Christmas Cards! I’m so excited to be part of the ICS Blog Hop this month because it’s all about Christmas Cards!

I asked my VIP’s in my exclusive customer and team group on Facebook what they would like to see me make. I received so many lovely suggestions, but two really stood out to me. Stars and Layers. I took to Pinterest and came across a lovely card from Trish at Spring Blossom Journey. Her design was lovely and I had to CASE it! My version is very close to hers, though I did have to alter it slightly to use the materials I had on hand.

I loved the idea of using little stars to create a wreath! And I also love how the Festive Farmhouse DSP from the Holiday Catalog really make this card shine! I wasn’t sure how to assemble the wreath at first to get it to look like a nice circle, but I discovered a little secret, which you can learn by watching my video below!

The layers make this card really stand out! I layered Whisper White with Crumb Cake. Typically I only use 1/4″ measurements, and sometimes 1/8″ measurements. However, to achieve the thin border on this card, I used 1/16″ measurements! I know, I know… it’s not the easiest measurement to get, but the Stampin’ Trimmer makes it super easy!

I hope you enjoyed my Christmas Card! This is definitely a card that is best handed out in person, or put inside a package. I’m sure it probably *could* be mailed, but it would almost definitely need to be hand canceled. I really enjoy making a variety of cards, and do tend to hand out cards to several individuals, so I really enjoyed making a fun, layered Christmas Card. And I hope you do too!

    1. Thanks, Janey! I have tried many times to make a wreath without a circle template, and it never turns out! I always have wonky wreaths lol So I really wanted to make sure the stars were in a beautiful circle on this fun Christmas card. 😊

  1. This is brilliant! Love the design, the colors, everything! I don’t know that I have ever seen a wreath with stars before, but it works so well. I might have to case it!

    1. Thank you, Debbi! When I saw a similar card on Pinterest, it was the first time I had ever seen it as well. I thought it was so clever! The stars on my card are a lot larger than the stars I saw on the card from Pinterest, but I think it works really well! 😊

    1. Awe, thanks Sharon! It makes me feel cozy, too! You are so right, these would make really lovely Christmas ornaments! I can see doing them double sided so when they hang you can see both sides are covered in stars. Great idea! 😊
