Lovely As a Tree Classic Layered Card

Today I wanted to get back into a classic set from the Annual Catalog. Lovely As a Tree is one of Stampin’ Up!’s longest running and best selling stamp sets. This beautiful set features a variety of trees and small accent stamps, and can be used for just about any occasion!

I fussy cut the small pine cone and pine branch stamps to accent my layered sentiment, and used a glue dot to hold it together. Then tied some linen thread around the layered pieces for added interest.

To make the scene cohesive and look like one long stamp, I used my Stampin’ Write marker in Basic Gray to mimic the lines of the stamps and connect the hills under the trees. You can’t even tell it isn’t a connecting image!

For the little bird and the sentiment, I used the Sitting Here stamp set. I love using layers on my cards, and think that this double layer with the sentiment raised is a nice touch to add dimension to the card.
